Marie T. Russell's Daily Inspiration The focus for today is:  I pay attention to what my instincts are telling me. Just like other animals, we have instincts. These "gut feelings" usually alert us to fearful situations. Yet, sometimes our instinctual fearful reaction may be based on ancestral fears, and do not have any bearing on our current reality. Thankfully, we also have a brain and a heart, and those come into play as well when making decisions. Our instinct's messages are always based on something... it is up to us to discern if that something is truly valid in the here and now. Some of our fears are based in our past such as fear of abandonment, or starvation, or being burnt at the stake, chased by a lion, tiger or bear, etc. When you feel your instinct speaking to you, pause and listen to what it is saying and why. And then check in with your mind and your heart as well. Ask all three to work together to reveal what the proper course of action is for you.
