DAN ZELOS TO RUN UNIQUE PARKINSON’S UK LIVERY AT CROFTCurrent Vertu MINI CHALLENGE points leader Dan Zelos will take his support for the Parkinson’s UK charity to a new level when the 2024 season resumes at Croft, with a special one-off livery on his EXCELR8 Motorsport-run car.Zelos has proudly carried Parkinson’s UK logos on his car this year to help raise awareness of the charity and its work after someone close to him was diagnosed with the condition.As a result of the partnership, Parkinson’s UK has had a presence at each of the five BTCC meetings held so far this season, with representatives from the charity joining EXCELR8 on the grid for the 15 touring car races run to date.In a bid to further showcase his personal support for Parkinson’s UK, and with the full backing of his various other commercial partners, Zelos will run a revised colour scheme for the two races in North Yorkshire, which mark the first time he will have competed at Croft since 2021.His traditional Davanti-backed livery will be replaced by a striking new look which will be seen in public for the first time when he hits the track for official practice on Friday.Alongside the one-off livery, Zelos will also help generate much-needed funds to go towards research into the condition – and potential treatments – through a charity track walk that is scheduled to take place at the circuit on Sunday morning.Fans attending the event will be able to join Dan at 9am in the assembly area (located on the outside of turn one) to complete a lap of the track.All those who donate £5 or more on a special JustGiving page before the conclusion of the second Vertu MINI CHALLENGE race on Sunday will also be entered into a draw to win a number of special prizes – including VIP hospitality to the 2024 season finale at Brands Hatch.People will also be able to donate via a QR code on Dan’s race car, and also via leaflets that will be made available during the track walk on Sunday morning.“When the opportunity arose to work alongside Parkinson’s UK in the race to find a cure, I didn’t have to think twice,” he said. “Being able to fundraise and help this amazing charity try and find a cure, is something that I know will help support those people living with the condition as well as their families.“I know that spare change can be hard to come by in these times, so the least I can do is try and raise awareness of this condition that is affecting way too many people. I also want people who are dealing with Parkinson’s – and their loved ones – feel comfortable coming to race weekends, and want them enjoy it as much as I do.“My awning is always open for anyone who wants to chat about how Parkinson’s has affected their lives.
