Dare to Tri S1 E12

from Dare To Tri Hosted by Dare To Tri

S 1 E 12 1/31/22 Thought/quote of the day: People are people, our same species. Recap of last week’s Truth/Dare: (Johanna) Truth: (Johanna) When was the last time you didn’t feel included? Why didn’t you include yourself? Dare: (Johanna) This week, Include others and yourself in conversations, events, in line at the grocery store ect. Anike: All week I had the thought: “Be inclusive” . Focusing on being inclusive at my new job, I said hi to everyone I passed. I connected with a co-worker in the kitchen and we talked about parenting and sharing tricks to get some sleep. The Child Whisperer Book. There has been a co-worker that never says hi to me, and because of this dare, my mindset changed to how can I serve him, instead of how can he serve me. And when he had a chance to say hi or bye to me, nothing changed, he didn’t say hi, but my attitude about it was so much better. “The secret to living is giving” Tony Robbins. There was another co-worker that I perceived had a bad attitude, but because of this week, I decided to be inclusive. He seems like a type 4 (Carol Tuttle) because he is direct. And I told him that I appreciated his directness, and he shared that he isn’t normally this straight forward, but he was stressed. And we had a great connection. I was committed to serving others, and changing my attitude. Changing the relationship not just with others, but also with yourself. Let us include others, teach your kids to be inclusive despite race, religion or difference. Johanna: I offered to go with sister in law to change her name, I suggested making it a sister date. I decided to stop waiting for them to include me, so I invited myself to help change her name. And they were so excited. And it made me feel loved. I decided to take the “in-law” and turn it into a sisterhood. Also this helped me with my relationship with my daughter. She sometimes talks in a baby voice, and we realized that she does that when she is nervous. We all do that, we put up a shield, so if I can't hurt it's not me getting hurt, its this fake persona that gets hurt. We are afraid of being rejected. Huge realization. Part of being inclusive is putting yourself in their shoes, in their lives, then we can physically include them. We do not need to start wars with our own kind. Why are we trying to kill our companions? We put the idea into our head that they are different from us. But it is not real. Bretagne: I want out of my way to include myself and others, and this helped me be present. Giving me opportunities to connect with so many people, and making every interaction a positive one. Connected with a doctor on a deeper level. Made a new friend who is a spiritual healer. Taught a private yoga class, and now teaches a class every week. Met a new friend who is also a motivational speaker and jump ropes. As I focused on including myself and others I felt more confident in my uniqueness and shared that energy with new and old friends alike.Get back to your inner-child. How was I when I was younger? Shout out to Dr. Brian Berry of Intermountain Wellness in Idaho, Christina Garcia, of Yes Girl Thrive Spiritual Life Coaching, Vegas Rich, of Only Ops Media and Juice Box Denver. New Truth: (Anike): Who is someone you look up to and inspires you? Johanna: Not one specific person, but I look up to any person who speaks well about their parents. Bretagne: Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, I think of futureself myself as the person I look up to. Anike: Tony Robbins, Lewis Howes from the school of Greatness podcast, Carol Tuttle, Mel Robins. New Dare: (Anike): Find someone of value, someone you look up to, who does what you want to do and be obsessed with them. 5/7 days this week find someone who does what you want to do and reach out to them, learn from them. Take action.
