Ergänzt werden die Klima-Recherchen durch eine wissenschaftliche Einordnung von Expertinnen und Experten. Das "ARD Klima Update" geht aus den beiden bisherigen Podcasts "Kemferts Klima-Podcast" (MDR) mit der Ökonomin Prof. Claudia Kemfert sowie "Mission Klima" (NDR) hervor. Dabei wird Claudia Kemfert als Expertin weiterhin im neuen Podcast zu Gast sein. Alle 14 Tage wird am Mittwoch eine neue Folge veröffentlicht. Zusätzlich zum Podcast gibt es einen Newsletter, der die wichtigsten Schlagzeilen einordnet und Klima-Wissen vermittelt.
