Dasakam 017 - Sloka 03

त्वन्मोहिते पितरि पश्यति दारवश्ये दूरं दुरुक्तिनिहत: स गतो निजाम्बाम् । साऽपि स्वकर्मगतिसन्तरणाय पुंसां त्वत्पादमेव शरणं शिशवे शशंस ॥३॥Tvanmohite pitari paśyati dāravaśye Dūraṁ duruktinihataḥ sa gato nijāmbām । Sā'pi svakarmagatisantaraṇāya puṁsāṁ Tvatpādameva śaraṇaṁ śiśave śaśaṁsa ॥3॥த்வன்மோஹிதே பிதரி ப²ஶ்யதி தாரவஶ்யே தூரம் துருக்திநிஹத: ஸ க²தோ நிஜாம்பாம் । ஸா'பி ஸ்வகர்மகதிஸந்த³ரணாய பு²ம்ஸாம் த்வத்பா³தமேவ ஶரணம் ஶிஶவே ஶஶம்ஸ ॥3॥त्वत्-मोहिते पितरिbeing under the influence of Thy Maayaa, the fatherपश्यति दार्-वश्येseeing hen-peckedदूरं दुरुक्ति-निहत: स:he (Dhruva) was taken aback and hurt by the cruel wordsगत: निज-अम्बाम्(he) went to his own motherसा-अपिshe alsoस्व-कर्म-गति-सन्तरणायfor getting over the effects of ones own actionsपुंसांfor human beingsत्वत्-पादम्-एव शरणंThy feet are the only refugeशिशवे शशंस(thus) she advised the childThe hen-pecked king who was under the influence of Thy Maayaa, silently looked on as Dhruva was scolded by Suruchi.
