Dating App Culture Deep Dive with FROME Founder Joe Feminella

This week in The Lounge I interviewed Joe Feminella, the founder of a new dating app on the block, First Round's On Me.I'm not shy about expressing on this poddy how I feel dating apps have changed the culture of dating - often for the worse - and Joe and I discuss these factors in this fun convo!We cover some of the things Joe's learned about dating with apps and dating culture through his research as he creates a dating app with a difference, and talk about the pitfalls and dangers of regular dating apps. Joe tells us about how he has created his new app to eliminate one of the biggest problems with using dating apps and how we can survive the dehumanising nature of the app dating landscape that's become rife with ghosting, game playing, and dopamine-driven swipe addictions.This is a fascinating insight into how our brains work when given a tool like this, and I found it heartening to chat with Joe and discover that there's at least some people out there in the corporate world trying to bring humanity, connection and intimacy back into our interactions with strangers.
