He wanted God’s protection without submitting to God’s authority.When Babylon’s army temporarily withdrew, Judah assumed the danger had passed. But temporary relief is not always divine deliverance, and delayed consequences do not mean God approves of our choices.Jeremiah remained faithful—even when he was falsely accused, beaten, and imprisoned. He refused to change God’s message simply because the truth was unpopular.The question for us is simple: Are we asking God for another answer while ignoring what He has already said?Ignoring God’s truth does not change it. It only leaves us unprepared for the consequences.
