DAY 231 — HOPE BEYOND THE END

DAY 231 — HOPE BEYOND THE END📖 Daniel 12The book of Daniel closes with a powerful reminder: the story does not end with suffering, death, or the grave.Daniel had seen kingdoms rise and fall, God's people persecuted, and evil appear to triumph. But God showed him what waits beyond the darkness:Resurrection. Judgment. Deliverance. Final victory.Daniel 12:2 says that those who sleep in the dust will awaken—some to everlasting life and others to everlasting judgment.Death is not the end.And for those who belong to Jesus, the grave does not get the final word.Jesus does.Christ entered the grave and walked out victorious. His resurrection guarantees that everyone who belongs to Him has a future beyond death. So when life is uncertain…Keep trusting.Keep praying.Keep serving.Keep sharing Jesus.Keep living for what lasts. You may not understand everything God is doing today, but you can trust where He is taking history.Christ wins. The dead will rise.Evil will be judged.God's people will be delivered. His Kingdom will stand forever. Our hope isn't merely that life will get better. Our hope is Jesus Christ—and resurrection is coming.#Daniel12 #HopeBeyondTheEnd #ResurrectionHope #JesusWins #BibleStudy #ChristianEncouragement #Faith #Gospel #KingdomOfGodSupport the show

UNSEEN — EPISODE 3--The Devil’s Playbook: Lies, Temptation & Accusation

UNSEEN — EPISODE 3 RECAPThe Devil’s Playbook: Lies, Temptation & AccusationThe enemy’s strategies are ancient—but they are still being used today. In this episode of UNSEEN, we walked through Genesis 3, Matthew 4, and Revelation 12 and uncovered three of Satan’s most persistent tactics:1. DECEPTION — “Did God really say?”Satan begins by questioning God’s Word, then contradicting God’s Word, and ultimately attacking God’s character. The lie beneath so much temptation is simple:“God cannot really be trusted.”But God has spoken. His Word is true. His character is good.2. TEMPTATION — The right desire through the wrong door.Satan often doesn’t tempt us with something obviously evil. He takes legitimate desires—intimacy, security, significance, relief—and offers shortcuts that bypass the will of God.Jesus refused every shortcut in the wilderness.Where Adam failed, Christ obeyed.Where Israel failed, Christ obeyed.Jesus is not merely our example in temptation—He is our victorious Savior and faithful representative.3. ACCUSATION — “Your failure defines you.”Revelation calls Satan the accuser. And one of the most important truths from this episode is this:The facts of the case may be true—but the conclusion is a lie.You may have failed. You may have sinned. You may deeply regret something in your past. But for the person who is in Christ, Satan cannot overturn the verdict of God.“Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.” — Romans 8:33There is also an enormous difference between conviction and condemnation.Conviction says:“You sinned. Bring it to Jesus.”Condemnation says:“You sinned. Stay away from Jesus.”Conviction produces repentance.Condemnation produces hiding.Conviction names the sin.Condemnation names you by the sin.Conviction leads toward restoration.Condemnation leads toward shame and paralysis. And Romans 8:1 gives the believer the final verdict:“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”The devil may accuse. But God has justified. The devil may remind you of what you did.The gospel reminds you of what Christ did.The enemy may tell you to hide.Grace calls you into the light.Know the truth.Recognize the lie.Resist the enemy.Run to your Advocate. And keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.🎙️ UNSEEN — Episode 3The Devil’s Playbook: Lies, Temptation & Accusation📖 Genesis 3 | Matthew 4 | Revelation 12:10Support the show

DAY 230 — GOD KEEPS HIS WORD

DAY 230 — GOD KEEPS HIS WORD📖 Daniel 9Daniel looked around and saw a nation in exile, Jerusalem in ruins, and God’s people living with the consequences of their rebellion. But then Daniel opened the Word of God.He discovered through Jeremiah that God had promised the exile would not last forever. And rather than making Daniel passive, God’s promise drove him to his knees.Daniel prayed:“We have sinned.”No excuses. No blame shifting. No minimizing sin.But Daniel also knew something greater:“To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness.”Daniel 9 reminds us that biblical repentance begins by recognizing that God is righteous and we are not. Yet our hope is not found in convincing God of our goodness. Daniel prayed:“We do not present our pleas before You because of our righteousness, but because of Your great mercy.”That is the gospel. We do not stand before God because we are good enough. We stand because He is merciful. And ultimately, God’s answer to humanity’s deepest problem is found in Jesus Christ. Jerusalem needed restoration, but humanity needed redemption. The temple needed rebuilding, but sinners needed atonement.God promised a Messiah. And God kept His Word.So if you are waiting on God today, remember:His silence is not absence. His timing is not failure. His promises are not fragile. The God who kept His promises to Daniel is still faithful today.Repent honestly.Pray boldly.Trust deeply. And keep your eyes on Jesus.🎙️ Day 230 — “God Keeps His Word”The Story of Scripture with Pastor John#StoryOfScripture #Daniel9 #GodKeepsHisPromises #Repentance #Grace #Mercy #JesusChrist #BiblicalTruth #TrustGodSupport the show

DAY 229 — THE SON OF MAN

DAY 229 — THE SON OF MAN📖 Daniel 7Daniel saw kingdoms rise, rulers boast, and terrifying powers dominate the earth—but then he looked toward heaven and saw something greater:The Ancient of Days was still on His throne.Daniel 7 reminds us that earthly kingdoms are temporary, but the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is eternal.Daniel saw “one like a son of man” coming with the clouds of heaven, receiving dominion, glory, and a Kingdom that would never be destroyed. Centuries later, Jesus identified Himself as that Son of Man.That means history is not spiraling toward chaos.History is moving toward the final and complete reign of Jesus Christ.Governments will change.Nations will rise and fall.Leaders will come and go.Cultures will shift. But Jesus remains King. Our ultimate hope cannot rest in a nation, political party, leader, or earthly system. Our allegiance belongs first and forever to Christ. So when the world feels unstable, remember:The throne has not moved.God has not lost control.Christ has not surrendered His Kingdom. And evil will not have the final word.Earthly powers will fall. The Son of Man will reign forever.🎙️ Day 229 — “The Son of Man”The Story of Scripture with Pastor John#StoryOfScripture #Daniel7 #SonOfMan #JesusIsKing #KingdomOfGod #BiblicalTruth #StandFirm #JesusChrist #BibleStudySupport the show

DAY 228 — GOD IN THE LIONS’ DEN

DAY 228 — GOD IN THE LIONS’ DEN📖 Daniel 6The lions’ den didn’t create Daniel’s faith—it revealed it.When the decree was signed and prayer could cost Daniel his life, he didn’t panic, compromise, or hide. He simply continued doing what he had always done: he prayed, trusted God, and remained faithful.Daniel didn’t know God would shut the lions’ mouths. He simply knew that God was worthy of his obedience regardless of the outcome. That’s the kind of faith we need today. Some trials God delivers us from.Others He carries us through. But in every circumstance, He remains sovereign, faithful, and worthy of our trust. And Daniel’s story ultimately reminds us of an even greater victory. Daniel walked out of the lions’ den alive, but Jesus walked out of the grave victorious over sin and death forever.Whatever lions you are facing today:Keep praying.Keep obeying.Keep standing.Keep trusting. The lions may be real. The pressure may be great. DAY 227 — GOD IN THE FIRE

DAY 227 — GOD IN THE FIREDaniel 3Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were given a choice:Bow—or burn.Their response is one of the strongest declarations of faith in all of Scripture:“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But if not… we will not serve your gods.” — Daniel 3:17–18That is mature faith.God is able. But even if He does not give us the outcome we want, He is still worthy.God could have kept them out of the furnace. He didn’t.God could have extinguished the fire.He didn’t.Instead, He met them in it.Nebuchadnezzar threw three men into the fire—but when he looked again, there were four. That is the hope of Daniel 3:🔥 God does not promise us a life without suffering.🔥 Faithfulness does not guarantee an easy road.🔥 Obedience may sometimes lead us directly into the furnace. But if you belong to God, you never enter the fire alone. And don’t miss this: they went into the furnace bound, but Nebuchadnezzar saw them walking around unbound.Sometimes God uses the very fire we thought would destroy us to burn away the things that had been binding us.Maybe you’re in a furnace season right now.Keep trusting.Keep standing.Keep worshiping. And keep saying:“My God is able—but even if not, He is still worthy.”🎙️ Day 227 — “God in the Fire”📖 Daniel 3God may not always keep you from the fire—but He will never abandon you in it.#StoryOfScripture #GodInTheFire #Daniel3 #FaithInTheFire #EvenIfNot #BiblicalFaith #TrustGod #JesusIsKingSupport the show

    Day 226: “Faithful in Babylon”

Day 226: “Faithful in Babylon”Daniel 1Babylon changed Daniel’s location, education, language, food, and even his name—but it could not change who he belonged to.Daniel 1:8 says, “But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself…”Daniel made the decision before the pressure came. That’s a lesson we desperately need today. Every culture tries to disciple us—to tell us what to believe, what to value, what to celebrate, and even who we are. But followers of Christ must settle some things before the culture asks us to compromise.Babylon can change your surroundings without changing your allegiance. And don't miss the greater truth running through Daniel 1: while Nebuchadnezzar appears powerful, God is sovereign. God gave Jerusalem into his hand, God gave Daniel favor, and God gave Daniel and his friends wisdom. So wherever God has placed you:Stand firm. Stay humble. Live holy. Trust God.You don't have to become angry or combative to be courageous. Daniel demonstrated conviction with character—faithful to God while treating those around him with wisdom and respect.Holiness matters everywhere. Not just at church. At work. At school. At home. Online. In private. And especially when you're the only person in the room willing to stand.Decide your convictions before Babylon asks you to compromise them.🎙️ Day 226 — “Faithful in Babylon”📖 Daniel 1The Story of Scripture with Pastor John#StoryOfScripture #Daniel1 #FaithfulInBabylon #StandFirm #BiblicalTruth #Faithfulness #Holiness #ChristianLivingSupport the show

    UNSEEN--MEET THE ENEMY — Episode 2

MEET THE ENEMY — Episode 2Spiritual warfare becomes dangerous when we make one of two mistakes: ignoring Satan completely or giving him attributes that belong only to God.In this episode, we take a biblical look at who Satan really is—and just as importantly, who he is not.He is an adversary. He is a deceiver. He is a tempter. He is an accuser. But he is not omniscient. He is not omnipresent. He is not omnipotent. He is not sovereign.Satan is not God's equal. He is a created, limited, and defeated enemy. We dig into Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 28, and 1 Peter 5:8 to examine the pride behind Satan's rebellion, the meaning of his biblical names, why Peter calls him a “roaring lion,” and why humility and submission to God are essential weapons in spiritual warfare. And above all, we remember this:Never underestimate the enemy. Never overestimate the enemy. And never lose sight of the King. The devil prowls.Jesus reigns. The accuser speaks.Christ justifies. The enemy is dangerous. But his defeat is certain.“Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8🎙️ Episode 2 — Meet the EnemyTake the enemy seriously—but keep your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, the Lion of Judah who reigns forever.#SpiritualWarfare #MeetTheEnemy #Unseen #BiblicalTruth #JesusIsKing #ChristianPodcast #Faith #BibleTeaching #StandFirmSupport the show

Day 225 — “Dry Bones Live”

Day 225 — “Dry Bones Live”📖 Ezekiel 37Ezekiel did not stand in a valley filled with tired people who needed encouragement. He stood among the bones of dead people who could do absolutely nothing for themselves. This is not a story about discovering human potential. It is a revelation of God’s resurrection power.God spoke. The bones came together. God breathed. The dead received life.Ezekiel’s vision originally revealed God’s promise to restore His scattered covenant people under one Shepherd-King—the promised Son of David. It also points us toward Jesus Christ, who conquered the grave and gives spiritual life to those who are dead in sin.We cannot raise the dead—but God can.No sinner is beyond His grace. No heart is beyond His reach. No situation is beyond His authority. No promise of God will ever fail. When we see only dry bones, God sees what His Word and Spirit can bring to life.🎧 Listen to Day 225 of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John.#StoryOfScripture #Ezekiel37 #DryBonesLive #WordOfGod #HolySpirit #ResurrectionPower #JesusChrist #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #PastorJohnSupport the show

Day 224 — “A New Heart” | Ezekiel 36Our deepest problem cannot be solved by changing our circumstances, improving our habits, or trying harder. We do not merely need better behavior—we need new hearts. In Ezekiel 36, God promises:“I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.” — Ezekiel 36:26God does not simply polish the heart of stone. He removes it. He cleanses us, gives us a living and responsive heart, and places His Spirit within us. Obedience is not the cause of this transformation; it is the result of God’s grace at work within us.Your past does not possess the authority to name you. UNSEEN--EPISODE 1 — PULLING BACK THE CURTAIN

⚔️ EPISODE 1 — PULLING BACK THE CURTAIN📖 Ephesians 6:12There is more happening around us than what we can see.Paul writes:“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…” — Ephesians 6:12The Bible is unmistakably clear that there is an unseen spiritual battle taking place. But when it comes to spiritual warfare, Christians often fall into one of two dangerous extremes:We either ignore the spiritual battle completely…or we become obsessed with the enemy behind everything.Neither approach is biblical. There is a better way:Not paranoia. Not naïveté.Clarity.Spiritual warfare is real. Satan is real. Temptation, deception, accusation, and opposition are real. But here is the most important truth of this entire series:🔥 The purpose of understanding the enemy is ultimately to understand more clearly the victory and sufficiency of Christ.Jesus is not struggling to defeat Satan. He has already conquered. The cross was not a close battle. The resurrection was not a narrow victory.Christ reigns. So we study spiritual warfare not because we are fascinated with darkness, but because understanding the battle should cause us to stand in greater confidence in the victorious Christ.Over the coming episodes, we’re going to pull back the curtain and look carefully at what Scripture teaches about the unseen battle surrounding the believer. But we will keep coming back to one truth:⚔️ We do not fight FOR victory. We fight FROM the victory Christ has already won.🎙️ Episode 1 — Pulling Back the CurtainEphesians 6:12The journey begins here.#SpiritualWarfare #PullingBackTheCurtain #Ephesians6 #BuiltForBattle #VictoryInChrist #ArmorOfGod #JesusWins #BiblicalTruth #ChristianPodcast #SpiritualBattleSupport the show

    Day 223 — A Watchman’s Call

Day 223 — A Watchman’s CallEzekiel 33God called Ezekiel to be a watchman—to see the danger, sound the warning, and faithfully speak the truth. The watchman wasn’t responsible for how people responded. He was responsible for making sure they heard the warning. That still speaks to us today. We live in a world where it can be easier to stay quiet than to speak biblical truth. But love doesn’t remain silent when someone is heading toward destruction. And don’t miss the heart of God in Ezekiel 33:God’s desire is not destruction. His invitation is, “Turn and live.”That is the heart of the gospel. There is judgment to flee, but there is also a Savior to run toward. You don’t have to control anyone’s response. You don’t have to have every answer. You simply need to faithfully speak the truth God has entrusted to you.Watch carefully. Day 222 — “Each One Is Accountable”

Day 222 — “Each One Is Accountable”Ezekiel 18Your family’s past may influence you, but it does not have to define you.In Ezekiel 18, God confronts Israel for blaming previous generations while refusing to acknowledge their own sin. A godly heritage cannot replace personal faith, and a painful heritage does not condemn us to repeat the same patterns. Each of us must personally respond to God.Your parents cannot believe for you.Your family cannot repent for you.Your past cannot excuse present rebellion. But there is also extraordinary hope: God calls us to turn and live. Through Christ, our sins can be forgiven, our hearts can be made new, and our identity no longer has to be determined by what happened before. You may have inherited the consequences of another person’s choices, but you do not have to continue their rebellion.“For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; so turn, and live.” — Ezekiel 18:32Listen to Day 222 of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John.#Ezekiel18 #StoryOfScripture #PersonalFaith #Repentance #NewIdentity #FaithInChrist #BibleTeachingSupport the show

Day 221 — “God Goes with His People”

Day 221 — “God Goes with His People”Ezekiel 11The Jewish exiles were far from Jerusalem, separated from the temple, and living in a land they never wanted to call home. Those remaining in Jerusalem assumed the exiles were far from God—but God gave them an incredible promise:“Yet I have been a sanctuary to them…in the countries where they have gone.” — Ezekiel 11:16The Hebrew phrase miqdash me’at means “a sanctuary for a little while” or “a sanctuary in small measure.” God was showing His people that His presence was not confined to a temple, city, or familiar place. Babylon could take them away from Jerusalem, but it could never take them away from God.The Lord also promised to give them lev echad—“one heart”—and a ruach chadashah—“a new spirit.” God was not merely preparing to change their location; He was preparing to transform their hearts. You may be walking through an unfamiliar season today. You may feel displaced, forgotten, or far from home. But if you belong to Christ, you are never beyond the reach of God’s covenant love.He is with you in the waiting. He is with you in the loss.He is with you in the unfamiliar place. He is with you in the exile.Separation may change your circumstances, but it cannot break God’s covenant love. Day 219 — Restore Us, O Lord

Day 219 — Restore Us, O Lord📖 Lamentations 5Lamentations closes with a humble prayer from a broken people:“Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored!” — Lamentations 5:21The people had lost their homes, their security, and their joy—but they recognized that their greatest need was not simply restored circumstances. Their greatest need was a restored relationship with God.True renewal begins with humility. It begins when we stop making excuses, confess our sin, and honestly pray:“Lord, bring me back to You.”Everything around us may change, but God remains on His throne. Day 218 — Remembering the Consequences

Day 218 — Remembering the ConsequencesLamentations 4 | The Story of ScriptureLamentations 4 forces God’s people to look honestly at the ruins left behind by their rebellion. The book is known in Hebrew as אֵיכָה — Eikhah, meaning, “How?” or “Alas!” It is the anguished cry of a people asking, “How did we get here?”Sin promises freedom, but it eventually produces bondage. It promises pleasure, but it hides the pain that follows. Sin never shows us the ruins at the end of the road. That is why honest reflection matters. The Jewish phrase חֶשְׁבּוֹן הַנֶּפֶשׁ — cheshbon ha-nefesh means “an accounting of the soul.” It is the practice of examining our choices, attitudes, and direction before God.But reflection must lead to more than regret.Regret says, “I hate what this cost me.”Repentance says, “I hate that my sin led me away from God.”The Hebrew word תְּשׁוּבָה — teshuvah means “return.” True repentance is not simply feeling guilty—it is turning away from sin and returning to the Lord. The good news is that the consequences do not have to be the end of the story. Jesus bore the judgment our sins deserved so that everyone who repents and believes can be forgiven, restored, and made new.Do not merely remember what sin cost you. Remember the Savior who paid the ultimate cost to bring you home.Let remembrance lead to reflection.Let reflection lead to repentance.Let repentance lead you back to God.🎙️ Listen to Day 218 of The Story of Scripture: “Remembering the Consequences.”#TheStoryOfScripture #Lamentations4 #RememberingTheConsequences #Repentance #Teshuvah #ReturnToGod #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #GospelHope #JesusSavesSupport the show

Day 217 — “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”

Day 217 — “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”📖 Lamentations 3Some of Scripture’s greatest words of hope were written in one of its darkest chapters.Jeremiah was surrounded by suffering. Jerusalem had fallen, the people were grieving, and he felt as though his strength and hope had disappeared. Yet in the middle of that darkness, he made a deliberate decision:“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope.”—Lamentations 3:21Jeremiah’s circumstances had not changed—but he remembered that God had not changed.“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”Our hope is not built upon our own strength, consistency, or ability to understand everything happening around us. Our hope rests upon the unchanging character of God.Yesterday may have brought disappointment, failure, grief, or unanswered questions—but today arrived with fresh mercy.God’s grace has not run out.His love has not ended. His promises have not failed. His presence has not left you.You may be walking through one of the darkest chapters of your life, but darkness does not have the final word. Jesus carried our sin, conquered death, and rose from the grave. Because Christ lives, hope can rise again.Do not measure God’s faithfulness by the difficulty of your circumstances. Day 216 — “The Weight of Judgment”

Day 216 — “The Weight of Judgment”📖 Lamentations 2Sin is never harmless.Lamentations 2 gives us a sobering picture of Jerusalem experiencing the consequences of years of rebellion against God. The people ignored His warnings, rejected His truth, and listened to voices that offered comfort without calling them to repentance.Eventually, their choices left deep and lasting scars.God’s judgment is real, but His warnings are also evidence of His mercy. He exposes our sin not simply to condemn us, but to call us back before greater destruction comes. We should never confuse God’s patience with His approval.Perhaps the Lord has been confronting an area of bitterness, pride, compromise, dishonesty, or delayed obedience in your life. Do not ignore His conviction. Bring it into the light, confess it, and turn back to Him.The cross reminds us both of the seriousness of sin and the greatness of God’s love. Day 215 — “The City That Weeps”

Day 215 — “The City That Weeps”📖 Lamentations 1Jerusalem once overflowed with people, worship, and celebration. Now the city sits empty and broken. The people had ignored God’s warnings, rejected His Word, and trusted in things that could never save them. Eventually, the consequences of their choices arrived.Lamentations reminds us that sin always costs more than it promises. It offers freedom but produces bondage. It promises satisfaction but leaves emptiness. It appears harmless while quietly damaging our relationship with God and the people around us.This chapter also teaches us that grief is not weakness. Sometimes we need to stop, acknowledge what has been lost, and allow our sorrow to lead us toward repentance. Godly grief does not leave us trapped in shame—it turns our hearts back toward the Lord.God invites us to bring our pain honestly before Him. We do not have to hide our tears, minimize our failures, or pretend everything is fine. We can cry out, confess our sin, and trust His mercy.Today’s challenge: Ask God to reveal any sin you have minimized or excused. Confess it honestly and take one practical step of repentance.Jerusalem wept because sin had brought devastating loss. But even among the ruins, God was not finished.Grief acknowledges the cost of sin. Grace reminds us that God can still write a story of redemption.#Lamentations #TheCityThatWeeps #DailyBible #Repentance #GodsGrace #BiblicalTruth #Faith #HopeInChristSupport the show

    DAY 214 — “JERUSALEM FALLS”

DAY 214 — “JERUSALEM FALLS”Jeremiah 39For years, God warned Judah that judgment was coming. The people ignored Jeremiah, rejected God’s Word, and continued living as though Jerusalem could never fall. But in Jeremiah 39, the walls are breached, the city is burned, and the people are carried into exile. Everything God warned them about became reality.God is patient, but His patience should never be mistaken for permission. Judgment delayed is not judgment canceled.Yet even amid the destruction, God’s mercy remained. Jeremiah was protected, the poor received land, and Ebed-melech was rescued because he trusted the Lord.Jerusalem fell—but God’s promises did not.The cross reminds us that God’s judgment against sin is real. The empty tomb declares that judgment is not the final word for those who belong to Christ.Destruction does not have the final word.Failure does not have the final word.Sin and death do not have the final word. For everyone who trusts in Jesus, grace has the final word!#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah39 #JerusalemFalls #GodsJudgment #GodsMercy #Grace #TrustGod #BiblicalTruthSupport the show

    DAY 213 — “REJECTING GOD’S WORD”

DAY 213 — “REJECTING GOD’S WORD”Jeremiah 37King Zedekiah wanted Jeremiah to pray for Judah, but he refused to obey the Word God had already given. He wanted God’s protection without submitting to God’s authority. When Babylon’s army temporarily withdrew, Judah assumed the danger had passed. But temporary relief is not always divine deliverance, and delayed consequences do not mean God approves of our choices.Jeremiah remained faithful—even when he was falsely accused, beaten, and imprisoned. He refused to change God’s message simply because the truth was unpopular. The question for us is simple: Are we asking God for another answer while ignoring what He has already said?Ignoring God’s truth does not change it. It only leaves us unprepared for the consequences. God’s warnings are acts of mercy, inviting us to repent before destruction comes.Don’t merely hear God’s Word—humble yourself, trust Him, and obey.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah37 #GodsWord #BiblicalTruth #Obedience #Repentance #DailyBibleSupport the show

Day 212 — “Hope Purchased by Faith”

Day 212 — “Hope Purchased by Faith”📖 Jeremiah 32Jerusalem was under siege. The Babylonian army surrounded the city. Judgment was near, the land was being overtaken, and the future looked hopeless. Then God told Jeremiah to buy a field.Humanly speaking, it made no sense. Jeremiah was purchasing land he could not use, protect, or occupy. Yet this was more than a financial transaction—it was a public declaration of faith.God had promised:“Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.”—Jeremiah 32:15Judgment was certain, but restoration was also certain.Jeremiah did not ignore the crisis. He saw the Babylonian army and understood the seriousness of Judah’s sin. Biblical faith does not deny present circumstances. It trusts that God’s promises reach beyond them.Jeremiah signed the deed, gathered witnesses, paid the silver, and preserved the documents for the future. He placed his resources behind what God had said.Faith became more than something he preached. It became something he practiced.Sometimes God calls us to invest in things whose full fruit we may not personally see.Parents keep teaching their children Scripture.Pastors continue preaching faithfully.Believers keep praying, giving, discipling, serving, forgiving, and obeying—even when the results are not yet visible.Jeremiah prayed:“Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth… Nothing is too hard for you.”God answered:“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”Nothing God has promised is beyond His power to accomplish. The greatest picture of purchased hope is found in Jesus. Jeremiah bought a field with silver as a sign of future restoration. Jesus purchased our redemption with His precious blood.Because Christ died and rose again, our future is secure. Death will not have the final word. Sin will not have the final word. The present siege will not have the final word.Perhaps your “field” is a prayer you keep praying, a child you keep discipling, a ministry you keep serving, or an act of obedience no one else notices.Keep trusting.Keep obeying.Keep investing in what God has called you to do.Faith buys the field because it trusts that the present siege is not the final chapter.🎧 Join me for Day 212 of The Story of Scripture as we learn to trust God beyond what we can presently see.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah32 #HopePurchasedByFaith #NothingIsTooHardForGod #WalkByFaith #BiblicalHope #TrustGod #FaithfulObedience #JesusRedeems #ChristianPodcastSupport the show

    Day 211 — “A New Covenant”

Day 211 — “A New Covenant”📖 Jeremiah 31Jeremiah 31 contains one of the greatest promises in all of Scripture. Even as judgment and exile approached, God declared that He was not finished with His people. He promised:“I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.”—Jeremiah 31:33Israel’s deepest problem was not Babylon, exile, or difficult circumstances. Their deepest problem was the condition of their hearts.God’s law was holy, righteous, and good—but commands written on stone could reveal sin without removing the sinful desires that produced it. The people did not merely need better rules. They needed transformed hearts. So God promised a new covenant. This covenant would bring more than outward religion or improved behavior. God would work within His people, changing their desires and drawing them into a genuine relationship with Him.He promised:“I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”And He made the promise that would make everything else possible:“I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”Jesus fulfilled this promise. On the night before the cross, He said, “This cup… is the new covenant in my blood.”At Calvary, Jesus carried our guilt and bore the judgment our sin deserved. Through faith in Him, we receive forgiveness, reconciliation, and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is not simply trying harder to appear righteous. It is God transforming us from the inside out.The gospel does not merely polish the outside. It gives new life to the inside.God does more than change our behavior. He changes our hearts, writes His truth within us, and gives us new desires through His Spirit.God’s plan of redemption is not merely to bring us out of exile—it is to bring the exile out of us.🎧 Join me for Day 211 of The Story of Scripture as we discover the hope of the new covenant and the heart-transforming grace found in Jesus Christ.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah31 #TheNewCovenant #HeartTransformation #JesusSaves #HolySpirit #Forgiveness #Grace #Gospel #ChristianPodcastSupport the show

Day 210 — “Hope in Exile”

Day 210 — “Hope in Exile”📖 Jeremiah 29Jeremiah 29 contains one of Scripture’s most familiar promises:“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”—Jeremiah 29:11But these words were not originally spoken to people enjoying comfortable and successful lives. They were spoken to exiles—to people who had lost their homes, their familiar way of life, and the future they thought they would have.Yet God had not forgotten them. The people were far from Jerusalem, but they were not far from God. They had lost the temple, but they had not lost the Lord. They were living in Babylon, but Babylon did not control their future.God told them to build houses, plant gardens, raise families, and live faithfully where they had been placed. They were also instructed to seek the welfare—the shalom—of the city and pray on its behalf. They wanted an immediate escape, but God called them to faithful obedience while they waited.Sometimes we become so focused on leaving a difficult season that we miss what God wants to do within us during that season. We ask Him to change our circumstances, while He is working to change our hearts.Jeremiah 29:11 does not promise a life without hardship. It promises that hardship will not have the final word.God’s plans remain good because God Himself is good. The delay is not necessarily the absence of His work. Sometimes the delay is part of His work. The greatest promise in this chapter is not merely that the exiles would return home. It is that when they sought the Lord with their whole hearts, they would find Him.Perhaps you are living through a season you never would have chosen. Life does not look the way you expected, and you feel far from where you thought you would be.Remember this:Exile is not abandonment. The place you never wanted to be may still become the place where God reveals His faithfulness.🎧 Join me for Day 210 of The Story of Scripture as we discover how to live faithfully, seek God wholeheartedly, and hold on to hope—even in exile.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah29 #HopeInExile #Jeremiah2911 #TrustGod #BiblicalHope #FaithInTheWaiting #GodIsFaithful #ChristianPodcast #SeekTheLordSupport the show

Day 209 — “The Cup of Wrath”

Day 209 — “The Cup of Wrath”📖 Jeremiah 25For twenty-three years, Jeremiah faithfully warned the people of Judah to turn from their sin and return to the Lord. God had spoken repeatedly, patiently, and clearly—but the people refused to listen.Jeremiah 25 reminds us that God’s patience should never be mistaken for His approval.Judgment did not come because God had failed to warn Judah. It came because the people repeatedly rejected His warnings. Their idolatry, injustice, rebellion, and refusal to repent would bring devastating consequences.Sin always promises more than it can deliver and costs more than we expect to pay.Pride promises significance but produces isolation. Bitterness promises protection but poisons the heart. Greed promises security but creates slavery. Sin presents itself as freedom, but its destination is captivity.God announced that Babylon would conquer Judah and carry the people into exile. Yet even powerful Babylon was not outside God’s authority. Nebuchadnezzar believed he was building an empire through his own strength, but above Babylon’s throne stood the throne of God.Nations rise and fall. Leaders come and go. History may appear chaotic—but God remains sovereign.Jeremiah was then shown a sobering image: the nations would drink from the cup of God’s wrath. Every nation would answer for its sin. No ruler, kingdom, or people could escape the justice of the Lord. But that cup points us forward to Jesus. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed concerning the cup He was about to drink. At the cross, the sinless Son of God took our place and bore the judgment our rebellion deserved.Jesus drank the cup of wrath so that everyone who trusts in Him could receive the cup of salvation.God does not simply ignore sin. He judged our sin in Christ so that we could be forgiven, reconciled, and made new.God’s patience is mercy, not permission—and the judgment we deserved was carried by Jesus at the cross.🎧 Join me for Day 209 of The Story of Scripture as we are reminded that sin has consequences, God remains sovereign, and mercy is available through Jesus Christ.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah25 #TheCupOfWrath #GodsSovereignty #Repentance #TheCross #JesusSaves #Grace #BiblicalTruth #ChristianPodcastSupport the show

Day 208 — “The Righteous Branch”

Day 208 — “The Righteous Branch”📖 Jeremiah 23Jeremiah 23 begins with a painful truth: Judah’s leaders had failed the people God entrusted to them. Instead of caring for the flock, they scattered it. Instead of teaching truth, they tolerated sin. Instead of leading people toward God, they pursued their own interests. But the failure of human shepherds could not cancel the faithfulness of the divine Shepherd. In the middle of approaching judgment, God gave His people a promise:“Behold, the days are coming… when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch.”—Jeremiah 23:5From what appeared to be a dying royal line, God promised that new life would grow. A righteous King would come from the family of David. He would rule with wisdom, establish justice, care for His people, and bring salvation. That promised King is Jesus Christ.Where earthly leaders fail, Jesus remains perfectly faithful. He never abandons His sheep, distorts justice, compromises truth, or uses His authority selfishly. He is the righteous King whose kingdom will never end.Jeremiah gives Him the remarkable name:“The LORD is our righteousness.”Our greatest need is not simply better circumstances or stronger human leadership. We need righteousness before a holy God—and Jesus provides what we could never produce for ourselves. He lived the righteous life we failed to live, carried our guilt upon the cross, and rose again in victory. Through faith in Him, we are forgiven, accepted, and clothed in His righteousness.Even as judgment approached, hope was rising. The darkness could not cancel God’s promise. The failure of earthly kings could not prevent the arrival of the righteous King. And the unfaithfulness of people could not make God unfaithful. When earthly leaders fail, lift your eyes to the righteous King who never will.🎧 Join me for Day 208 of The Story of Scripture as we discover how hope rises even in dark times because Jesus, the righteous Branch, has come.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah23 #TheRighteousBranch #JesusIsKing #Messiah #OurRighteousness #BiblicalHope #ChristianPodcast #Faith #GospelSupport the show

Day 207 — “Faith Under Fire”

Day 207 — “Faith Under Fire”📖 Jeremiah 20Jeremiah faithfully proclaimed the Word of God, but his obedience did not make his life easier. He was beaten, publicly humiliated, placed in stocks, mocked, and rejected—not because he had disobeyed God, but because he had remained faithful to Him.Jeremiah 20 reminds us that obedience to God will sometimes bring opposition. Speaking truth may cost us approval, relationships, opportunities, or comfort. Faithfulness does not guarantee that everyone will understand us or applaud us.Jeremiah became so discouraged that he considered remaining silent. Yet he confessed:“There is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones.”—Jeremiah 20:9God’s Word burned within him. Though Jeremiah was tired, wounded, and frustrated, he could not walk away from the calling God had placed upon his life.Biblical faith is not pretending that hardship does not hurt. Faith brings its pain, disappointment, confusion, and exhaustion honestly before the Lord. Jeremiah struggled deeply, yet in the middle of his struggle he declared:“The LORD is with me as a dread warrior.”The opposition was real, but God’s presence was greater.Perhaps you are weary from trying to do what is right. Maybe you have been criticized for standing upon Scripture or misunderstood because of your convictions. Remember that rejection does not always mean you are doing something wrong. Sometimes truth exposes what people would rather leave hidden.Faithfulness does not guarantee freedom from opposition, but it does remind us that we never face opposition alone.🎧 Join me for Day 207 of The Story of Scripture as we discover how God sustains His servants when their faith is under fire.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah20 #FaithUnderFire #BiblicalTruth #ChristianFaith #Obedience #Courage #GodIsWithUs #ChristianPodcast #StandFirmSupport the show

Day 206 — “The Potter and the Clay”

Day 206 — “The Potter and the Clay”📖 Jeremiah 18God sent Jeremiah to the potter’s house to witness a powerful picture of His sovereignty and grace. As the potter worked at the wheel, the clay became marred in his hands—but he did not throw it away. He reshaped it into another vessel according to his purpose. In the same way, God has the authority to shape individuals, churches, and nations. He warns that continued rebellion brings consequences, but His warnings are also invitations to repent. The outcome can still change when people turn from sin and return to Him.Repentance is not merely feeling sorry. It is agreeing with God, turning from our own way, and placing ourselves back into His hands.Perhaps you feel as though failure, sin, or poor decisions have ruined what your life could have been. Jeremiah 18 reminds us that being marred does not mean being discarded. God can redeem what has been broken, reshape what has been damaged, and create something useful from a surrendered life. The greatest danger is not that the clay has been marred. The greatest danger is becoming so hardened that we refuse the Potter’s hands. As long as the clay remains in the Potter’s hands, there is hope.🎧 Join me for Day 206 of The Story of Scripture as we discover how repentance can change our direction and how God’s gracious hands are still shaping His people.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah18 #ThePotterAndTheClay #Repentance #Grace #GodIsSovereign #BiblicalTruth #ChristianPodcast #Faith #HopeSupport the show

    Day 205 — “A Broken Covenant”

Day 205 — “A Broken Covenant”Jeremiah 11God had graciously rescued Israel from slavery, claimed them as His people, and entered into covenant with them. Yet Judah wanted the blessings of belonging to God without submitting to His authority. They continued their religious practices while giving their hearts to idols.Jeremiah 11 reminds us that hearing God’s Word is not the same as obeying it. God’s Word was not given merely to inform our minds but to transform our lives.Judah’s unfaithfulness also reveals the condition of every human heart. We are all covenant-breakers who have pursued created things in place of the Creator. Our only hope is Jesus Christ—the One who obeyed perfectly and bore the judgment our sin deserved. We do not obey God to earn His grace. We obey because we have received His grace. Obedience is not the root of salvation, but it should be the fruit of it.Covenant love demands covenant faithfulness—not as payment for grace, but as our grateful response to the God who first loved and redeemed us.🎧 Join me for Day 205 of The Story of Scripture as we examine the danger of divided devotion and discover the hope offered through Jesus and the new covenant.#TheStoryOfScripture #Jeremiah11 #BrokenCovenant #CovenantFaithfulness #Obedience #GodsGrace #JesusChrist #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcastSupport the show

The Double Portion – Episode 12 | Elisha's Final Miracle

The Double Portion – Episode 12 | Elisha's Final MiracleThe greatest impact of your life may happen after you're gone.In this week's episode of the Double Portion Podcast, we conclude the remarkable ministry of Elisha in 2 Kings 13:14–21. Though the prophet's earthly life comes to an end, God isn't finished working. In one of the most surprising miracles in Scripture, a dead man is brought back to life after touching Elisha's bones—a powerful reminder that God's power never dies with His servants. This episode explores what it truly means to finish well, to leave a legacy of faith, and to live for eternal impact. Elisha teaches us that the goal of life is not building our own kingdom but faithfully advancing God's Kingdom so that the next generation knows and follows the Lord. We'll also look at:• Why finishing faithfully matters more than finishing famously.• What the "double portion" really meant in Hebrew culture.• Why King Joash missed the fullness of God's blessing through half-hearted faith.• How Elisha's final miracle ultimately points us to the resurrection power of Jesus Christ. The question isn't whether we'll leave something behind. The question is: What kind of spiritual legacy are we leaving?May we be men and women who live so faithfully that, long after we're gone, others are still being pointed to Christ because of the lives we surrendered to Him.🎙️ Episode 12: "The Double Portion" is available now."One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts." — Psalm 145:4 (ESV)#DoublePortionPodcast #Elisha #2Kings #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #LegacyOfFaith #FinishWell #Discipleship #Faith #JesusChrist #OldTestament #BiblicalTheology #ChristianLiving #KingdomImpactSupport the show

Day 204 — “The Righteous Shall Live by Faith”

Day 204 — “The Righteous Shall Live by Faith”Habakkuk 2:1–4Habakkuk still had questions. Babylon was coming, judgment was approaching, and the future remained uncertain. Yet instead of walking away from God, the prophet took his place on the watchtower and waited for God to speak.God reminded Habakkuk that His promises have an appointed time. They may seem delayed from our perspective, but they are never late according to His perfect plan. Then God gave him this powerful truth:“The righteous shall live by his faith.” — Habakkuk 2:4Faith does not mean we understand everything God is doing. It means we trust the God who does. Faith waits when the answer has not come, holds onto God’s Word when circumstances become uncertain, and remains confident in God’s character when His plan is difficult to understand. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, and we are called to live each day by that same faith. Our confidence is not in our strength, feelings, or circumstances. Our confidence is in the God whose promises never fail.Faith does not always remove uncertainty, but it gives us an anchor in the middle of it.🎧 Join me for Day 204 of The Story of Scripture as we discover what it means to live by faith while waiting on God.#TheStoryOfScripture #Habakkuk2 #LiveByFaith #TrustGod #GodsPromises #FaithOverFear #WaitingOnGod #ChristianPodcast #BibleStudySupport the show

Day 203 — “Why, Lord?”Habakkuk 1Have you ever looked at the suffering, violence, and injustice around you and asked, “Why, Lord? How long will this continue?”Habakkuk asked those same questions. He saw wickedness spreading throughout Judah and could not understand why God appeared silent. But God revealed that He was not absent or inactive. He was already working—though not in the way Habakkuk expected.Habakkuk teaches us that faith does not require us to hide our confusion. God can handle our honest questions. There is a difference between rejecting God and wrestling with God. Unbelief walks away, but faith keeps praying, seeking, and holding on.We may not always understand God’s timing or methods, but we can remain anchored in His unchanging character. He is holy, wise, good, just, and completely sovereign.Faith does not silence our questions; faith teaches us where to take them.🎧 Join me for Day 203 of The Story of Scripture as we discover how to trust God—even in the seasons when we are still asking, “Why, Lord?”#TheStoryOfScripture #WhyLord #Habakkuk1 #TrustGod #FaithInHardTimes #HonestPrayer #GodIsSovereign #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcastSupport the show

DOUBLE PORTION — EPISODE 11--"Wash and Be Clean"

DOUBLE PORTION — EPISODE 11Wash and Be Clean📖 2 Kings 5:1–19Naaman was powerful, respected, and successful—but beneath his armor was a sickness he could not overcome. When he came seeking healing, God did not give him the dramatic solution he expected. Instead, the prophet Elisha told him to wash seven times in the Jordan River. Naaman almost walked away because the instructions seemed too simple, too ordinary, and beneath his dignity. But when Naaman humbled himself and obeyed, he was completely healed. This story reminds us that pride can keep us from receiving the very blessing God desires to give us. We often want God to work according to our expectations, but His ways are higher than ours. Sometimes the breakthrough we are praying for is found on the other side of simple, humble obedience.Naaman’s healing was not found in his position, possessions, strength, or influence. It came when he stopped arguing, surrendered his pride, and trusted the word of the Lord. What might God be asking you to do that you have resisted because it seems too simple, uncomfortable, or humbling?Healing often begins when pride ends.🎙️ Listen to Episode 11 of Double Portion: Wash and Be Clean and discover how humility, obedience, and complete trust in God can lead to freedom.#DoublePortion #WashAndBeClean #Naaman #SecondKings #HumbleObedience #TrustGod #BiblicalTruth #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Humility #ObedienceSupport the show

    Day 202 “True Worship”

Day 202“True Worship”Jeremiah 7It is possible to attend worship, sing the songs, know the language, and participate in religious activity—while our hearts remain far from God.In Jeremiah 7, God sends Jeremiah to the entrance of the Temple with a difficult message. The people believed they were safe simply because the Temple of the Lord stood among them. They trusted in a religious building while continuing to live in disobedience. But God is not impressed by outward religion when there is no inward transformation. The Temple had become a “den of robbers.” It was not where the people committed their sins—it had become the place where they tried to hide afterward. They lived however they wanted and then assumed that religious rituals would protect them from the consequences of their rebellion.God told them what He truly desired:“Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people.”—Jeremiah 7:23True worship is more than what happens inside a church building. It is a surrendered life marked by obedience, justice, mercy, holiness, and genuine love for God.Church attendance is important. Worship is important. Serving is important. But none of those things can replace a heart that has been changed by Jesus.Religion may change our behavior for a season, but only the gospel can transform the heart forever.Today’s Takeaway:God does not simply want our songs, routines, or religious activity. Day 201-- "Called Before Birth"

Day 201"Called Before Birth"Jeremiah 1Have you ever wondered if your life has a purpose?Jeremiah 1 reminds us that God's plans for His people begin long before they ever realize them. God tells Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you... I appointed you..." His calling wasn't based on Jeremiah's abilities—it was rooted in God's sovereign purpose.Like Jeremiah, we often focus on our weaknesses. We feel too inexperienced, too inadequate, or too afraid. But God never asks us to rely on our own strength. He simply calls us to trust Him, proclaim His truth, and walk faithfully where He leads.God's call is always accompanied by God's presence. The Lord told Jeremiah, "Do not be afraid... for I am with you."That same promise gives believers confidence today. We may not all be prophets, but every follower of Christ has been created for good works that God prepared beforehand. The world doesn't need more opinions—it needs people who faithfully speak God's Word with courage, humility, and conviction.Today's Takeaway:God's calling is never based on your ability—it is based on His purpose. Day 200 — "Renewal and Reform"

Day 200 — "Renewal and Reform"2 Kings 23Revival is more than an emotional experience—it is a life of obedience to God's Word. When King Josiah discovered God's truth, he didn't simply acknowledge it; he acted on it. He tore down idols, renewed the covenant, restored true worship, and called God's people back to faithfulness. The same principle is true today.Real spiritual renewal doesn't begin with better circumstances. It begins when God's Word changes our hearts, leading us to repentance, obedience, and wholehearted worship. The question isn't whether God wants to bring renewal. The question is whether we're willing to surrender anything that competes with Him.🗝️ Key Truth:Revival begins when God's Word is obeyed, not merely heard."If you love me, you will keep my commandments." — John 14:15 (ESV)#TheStoryOfScripture #2Kings #Josiah #Renewal #Revival #Faithfulness #BibleStudy #DailyBible #WalkWithGod #PastorJohnSupport the show

When King Josiah heard God’s Word, he tore his clothes in grief and humbled himself before the Lord. Scripture exposed Judah’s sin and awakened the king’s heart to the need for genuine change.Josiah reminds us that revival does not begin with better programs, louder music, or larger crowds. Revival begins when God’s people rediscover God’s Word, receive it with humility, and respond with repentance. The Bible does more than inform us—it confronts us, convicts us, and calls us back to faithful obedience. Day 198 — "A Nation's Decline"

Day 198 — "A Nation's Decline"📍2 Kings 21One of the saddest truths in Scripture is that spiritual decline rarely happens overnight—it happens one compromise at a time.King Manasseh inherited a nation that had experienced revival under his father, Hezekiah. Yet in a single generation, he rebuilt the idols that had been torn down, filled God's Temple with pagan worship, practiced witchcraft, sacrificed his own son, and led Judah further into sin than the nations God had driven out before Israel. This chapter reminds us that leadership matters. Whether in our homes, our churches, or our nation, leaders have the ability to either point people toward God or pull them away from Him. Manasseh's influence accelerated Judah's spiritual collapse because he rejected God's authority and embraced the values of the surrounding culture. But this passage also exposes a deeper issue. Idolatry isn't merely bowing before carved images—it's allowing anything to take God's rightful place in our hearts. Whenever comfort, success, power, pleasure, or approval become our ultimate pursuit, we've begun building altars to modern-day idols. The good news is that 2 Kings 21 doesn't have the final word.Where Manasseh failed, Jesus Christ succeeded.Manasseh polluted God's house; Jesus cleanses it.Manasseh led people into darkness; Jesus is the Light of the world.Manasseh shed innocent blood; Jesus gave His innocent blood to redeem sinners. Our hope has never been found in earthly leaders. Our hope rests in the righteous King whose Kingdom will never end.💡 Today's Challenge:Ask the Lord to reveal any idols competing for first place in your heart. DOUBLE PORTION — Episode 10: "Room for God"What do you do when it feels like God's promises have died?In this week's episode of Double Portion, we walk through one of the most powerful miracles in Scripture—the raising of the Shunammite woman's son in 2 Kings 4:8–37.This isn't just a story about resurrection. It's a story about quiet faithfulness, painful disappointment, and learning to trust God when His plans don't make sense. The big truth: Faith trusts God even when His promises seem dead.In this episode, we'll discover:🏡 Why the miracle began with a simple room prepared for God.🙏 How faith responds when life brings heartbreaking disappointment.⏳ Why God's delays are never His denials.✝️ How this miracle points us to Jesus Christ—the One who conquered death forever. One of the most beautiful lessons from this passage is that the Shunammite woman placed her greatest sorrow in the very room she had prepared for God's presence. She teaches us that faith doesn't ignore pain—it brings pain to the Lord.If you're waiting on God...If you're carrying unanswered prayers...If a dream, relationship, ministry, or season of life feels beyond hope...This episode is for you.Remember: The God who brings life from death has not changed. Day 197 — "A Warning Ignored"

Day 197 — "A Warning Ignored"📍2 Kings 20Success can be just as dangerous as suffering.King Hezekiah experienced incredible victories. God healed him from a terminal illness, added fifteen years to his life, and even performed a miracle by turning back the shadow on the sundial. But after all God had done, Hezekiah made a tragic mistake—he began showcasing his own wealth instead of God's faithfulness. The greatest threat to our spiritual lives often isn't adversity—it's pride. When life is difficult, we naturally depend on God. But when life is going well, we can slowly begin believing that our success is the result of our own strength, wisdom, or ability. Pride quietly shifts our focus from the Giver to the gifts.Today's Challenge:• Thank God for every blessing instead of assuming you earned it.• Give God the glory for every success in your life.• Live with the next generation in mind, leaving behind a legacy of faith rather than a reputation of achievement.Key Truth:God can bless us with success, but only humility allows us to steward it well."God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." — James 4:6May everything we accomplish point people to Christ—not to ourselves.#TheStoryOfScripture #2Kings20 #PastorJohn #BibleReadingPlan #Humility #Faith #TrustGod #ChristianLiving #Legacy #GiveGodTheGlorySupport the show

Day 196 — "God Defends His Name"

Day 196 — "God Defends His Name"📍 2 Kings 19When King Hezekiah faced the most powerful army in the world, he didn't place his confidence in military strength or human strategy—he took his burden to the Lord.In 2 Kings 19, we are reminded that our greatest battles are won not by our power, but by God's. The Assyrian army surrounded Jerusalem with overwhelming force, yet God demonstrated that no enemy is greater than His sovereign power.🔹 Key Takeaways:• Bring every burden to God in prayer before looking anywhere else.• God's promises give us peace even before our circumstances change.• The ultimate purpose of God's deliverance is His glory.• No obstacle is too great for the God who rules over heaven and earth.• Faith grows when we trust God's character more than our circumstances. One of the most powerful moments in the chapter is when Hezekiah spreads the enemy's threatening letter before the Lord. Instead of surrendering to fear, he surrendered his problem to God.That same invitation is ours today.Whatever battle you're facing—whether it's fear, uncertainty, broken relationships, financial pressure, illness, or unanswered questions—bring it before the Lord. He is still the God who hears, the God who answers, and the God who defends His name. Most importantly, this chapter points us to Jesus Christ, our greater King. Where Hezekiah interceded for Jerusalem, Jesus intercedes for us. Day 195 — "Trusting the Lord"

Day 195 — "Trusting the Lord"📍 2 Kings 18Every generation faces its own "Assyria"—those overwhelming circumstances that seem impossible to overcome. In today's episode, we looked at the life of King Hezekiah and discovered that true faith isn't believing life will be easy; it's believing that God is greater than whatever stands against us.🔹 Key Takeaways:• Revival begins when we remove the idols that compete for God's throne.• Trust in God produces courage when fear surrounds us.• The enemy's greatest weapon is often doubt—but God's character silences every lie.• Faith isn't about having all the answers; it's about knowing the One who does.• The size of your obstacle never changes the greatness of your God.Hezekiah refused to compromise, held fast to the Lord, and trusted Him when the odds seemed impossible. His life reminds us that God's people don't measure the future by circumstances—we measure it by the power and faithfulness of our God.Most importantly, Hezekiah points us to the greater King, Jesus Christ. Where every earthly king eventually failed, Jesus trusted the Father perfectly. Because He remained faithful, we can confidently place our lives in His hands.Remember today:"Fear grows when we magnify our problems. Faith grows when we magnify our God."No matter what "Assyria" you're facing today, the Lord is still your refuge, your strength, and your Deliverer.🎧 If today's episode encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that God is worthy of their trust.#TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #2Kings18 #TrustTheLord #FaithOverFear #Hezekiah #BibleTeaching #WalkByFaith #JesusIsKing #GodIsFaithful #DailyBibleReading #ChristianLivingSupport the show

Day 194 — "The Suffering Servant"

Day 194 — "The Suffering Servant"📖 Isaiah 53More than 700 years before the birth of Jesus, Isaiah painted one of the clearest pictures of the cross in all of Scripture. The promised Messiah would be rejected, pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, and rise in victory—all according to God's perfect plan. The Gospel is not an accident of history. It is the fulfillment of God's eternal promise.Jesus didn't simply die to show us how to love. He died in our place. He bore the judgment we deserved so that we could receive the righteousness we could never earn."He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities... and with His wounds we are healed."— Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)The cross reveals two unshakable truths:✝️ Your sin is more serious than you ever imagined.❤️ God's love is greater than you ever dreamed.Because of Christ's sacrifice, forgiveness is available, peace with God is possible, and eternal life is secure for everyone who trusts in Him.Memorable Quote:"The cross is where God's perfect justice and perfect love met so guilty sinners could become forgiven sons and daughters."Listen to today's episode and be reminded that redemption came through the willing sacrifice of the Suffering Servant—the Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world.#TheStoryOfScripture #Isaiah53 #TheSufferingServant #JesusChrist #Gospel #TheCross #Redemption #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #Faith #Hope #GraceSupport the show

Day 193 — "Comfort My People"

Day 193 — "Comfort My People"Isaiah 40We all experience seasons of weariness, uncertainty, and waiting. Isaiah 40 reminds us that our greatest comfort is not found in changing circumstances—it is found in the unchanging character of God.The same God who measures the oceans in the hollow of His hand also gathers His people like a shepherd carrying lambs in His arms. His power is limitless, yet His care is deeply personal. His Word never fails, His promises never expire, and His strength never runs out. When you feel weak, remember that God's strength is never exhausted. When you feel forgotten, remember that the God who calls every star by name also knows yours. And when life requires you to wait, know that waiting on the Lord is not passive—it is confident trust that His timing is always perfect."But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength..." — Isaiah 40:31 (ESV)Today's Takeaway:Your strength has limits. God's strength does not. Lift your eyes from your circumstances to the greatness of your God, and you'll find the comfort your soul has been searching for.🎙️ Listen to today's episode of The Story of Scripture with Pastor John and be encouraged by the God whose power is unmatched and whose care for His people never fails.#TheStoryOfScripture #Isaiah40 #ComfortMyPeople #Faith #Hope #TrustGod #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #PastorJohn #DailyDevotional #ESV #GodsPromisesSupport the show

Day 192 | The Righteous Branch

Day 192 | The Righteous Branch📖 Isaiah 11What do you do when everything seems hopeless?Isaiah gives us a beautiful picture of God's faithfulness. The kingdom of David looked like a tree that had been cut down—a lifeless stump with no future. But God made an incredible promise:"There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit." (Isaiah 11:1)What looked dead to the world was only the beginning of God's greatest work. That Branch is Jesus Christ—the promised Messiah, filled with the Spirit of God, who reigns with perfect wisdom, justice, and righteousness.Unlike earthly leaders, Jesus:👑 Never makes a wrong decision.⚖️ Never judges unfairly.❤️ Never breaks a promise.🌍 Will one day establish a kingdom of perfect peace.Isaiah even gives us a glimpse of Christ's future kingdom—a world where creation itself is restored, justice prevails, and "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9).Today's Takeaways:🌱 God brings life where we see only stumps.👑 Jesus is the righteous King we've always needed.⚖️ His justice is perfect because His character is perfect.🕊️ One day Christ will make all things new.Memorable Truths:💬 When it looks like hope has been cut down, God is already growing something greater.💬 History is not moving toward chaos—it is moving toward a righteous King.💬 Our hope is not rooted in circumstances but in Christ, the Righteous Branch. No matter what feels broken today, remember this:God is never finished where He has made a promise. The Branch still lives. The King still reigns. And the best is still to come.#TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #Isaiah11 #TheRighteousBranch #JesusChrist #Messiah #Hope #BibleInAYear #ChristianLiving #BibleStudy #DailyDevotional #KingdomOfGod #Faith #HopeInChristSupport the show

    Day 191 | A Child Is Promised

Day 191 | A Child Is Promised📖 Isaiah 9:1–7Long before Bethlehem... God made a promise.Into a world filled with fear, uncertainty, and spiritual darkness, Isaiah proclaimed a message of hope that still changes lives today:"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light." (Isaiah 9:2)That Light is Jesus Christ.Isaiah's prophecy wasn't simply about the birth of a child—it was about the arrival of the King who would rescue sinners, establish an eternal kingdom, and bring lasting peace. His names tell us everything we need to know:✨ Wonderful Counselor — He always knows the right path.💪 Mighty God (El Gibbor) — He is fully God, mighty to save.❤️ Everlasting Father — He lovingly cares for His people forever.🕊️ Prince of Peace — He alone brings true shalom—peace with God, wholeness, and lasting hope.No earthly king can offer what Jesus offers. No government can secure what His kingdom guarantees. No darkness can overcome His light.Today's Takeaways:✅ God brings light into our darkest moments.✅ Jesus is both fully God and fully man—the promised King.✅ Our hope is not found in changing circumstances but in an unchanging Savior.✅ Christ's kingdom will never end, and His promises never fail.Memorable Truths:💡 God's greatest answer to a dark world is not a better circumstance—it is a perfect Savior.💡 Darkness never defeats light. Light always overcomes darkness.💡 When the world seems out of control, remember—the throne of Christ never is."For to us a child is born, to us a son is given... and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." — Isaiah 9:6No matter what you're facing today, remember this:The Light has come. The King is reigning.Hope has a name—Jesus Christ.#TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #Isaiah9 #HopeHasAName #JesusChrist #WonderfulCounselor #MightyGod #PrinceOfPeace #BibleInAYear #ChristianLiving #DailyDevotional #BibleStudy Support the show

DOUBLE PORTION – Episode 8-- "More Than You Can See"

🎙️ DOUBLE PORTION – Episode 8More Than You Can See📖 2 Kings 6:8–23Sometimes the greatest miracle isn't that God changes our circumstances—it's that He changes our perspective. In Episode 8 of Double Portion, we walked through the incredible account of Elisha and his servant in 2 Kings 6:8–23. Surrounded by an enemy army, the servant saw only fear. But when God opened his eyes, he discovered the mountains were filled with horses and chariots of fire. Heaven had been at work the entire time. This miracle reminds us that God is always working, even when we cannot see it. Fear distorts our perspective, but faith allows us to trust the God who is sovereign over every battle. We also saw how Elisha's mercy toward his enemies points us to the greater mercy of Jesus Christ, who loved us while we were still His enemies.Memorable takeaway:"Faith does not deny reality—it sees the greater reality of God's presence."Whatever you're facing today, remember that God's protection, His presence, and His purposes are greater than your circumstances. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, because there is always more happening than you can see.#DoublePortion #2Kings6 #Elisha #FaithOverFear #TrustGod #GodIsWorking #ChristianPodcast #BibleTeaching #JesusChrist #WalkByFaithSupport the show

Day 190 | Holy, Holy, Holy

Day 190 | Holy, Holy, Holy📖 Isaiah 6What happens when you truly encounter the holiness of God?Isaiah's answer is clear: you'll never be the same.In one of the most breathtaking scenes in all of Scripture, Isaiah sees the Lord seated on His throne while the seraphim cry:"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" (Isaiah 6:3)In that moment, Isaiah doesn't compare himself to other people—he compares himself to a holy God. His response isn't pride, but humble confession:"Woe is me!"Yet the story doesn't end with conviction. God graciously cleanses Isaiah, removes his guilt, and then sends him on mission. The same pattern is true for us today:👑 We see God's holiness.🙏 We confess our sin.❤️ We receive His grace.➡️ We are sent to serve. One of the most remarkable truths in this chapter is found in John 12:41, where we're told that Isaiah was seeing the glory of Jesus. The King seated on the throne in Isaiah's vision is the same Savior who would one day humble Himself, go to the cross, and make atonement for our sins.Memorable Truths from today's episode:✅ The throne of heaven is never empty, even when the thrones of earth are.✅ The closer you get to God's light, the more clearly you see your need for His grace.✅ God doesn't send perfect people—He sends forgiven people.✅ True worship begins with reverence and ends with obedience.Big Truth:The God who is infinitely holy is also infinitely gracious through Jesus Christ."Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'" — Isaiah 6:8#TheStoryOfScripture #PastorJohn #Isaiah6 #HolyHolyHoly #GodsHoliness #JesusChrist #BibleInAYear #ChristianLiving #Faith #BibleStudy #DailyDevotional #Worship #HereAmISendMeSupport the show
