Day 222: Jeremiah 10-13

Welcome back to Day 222 of our Bible reading journey. Today we're reading Jeremiah chapters 10 through 13, where God contrasts His sovereignty with the emptiness of idols and continues His call for Judah to repent. In these chapters, we'll see a powerful reminder that the Lord is the one true God, the Creator and King over all the earth, while the idols people trust in are powerless and lifeless. Jeremiah also wrestles personally with the weight of his calling as he faithfully delivers God's message to a people who refuse to listen. Through vivid illustrations, including a ruined linen belt and wineskins filled to overflowing, God reveals how far His people have drifted from Him and the consequences that their pride and rebellion will bring. Yet even in these warnings, we hear God's heart, grieving over a people He longs to restore. As we read today, let's consider where we place our trust. Are we relying on things that cannot save, or are we looking to the Lord, who alone is worthy of our worship, obedience, and hope? Let's open our Bibles and read Jeremiah 10-13 together.
