Day 245: Ezekiel 21 and 22

from Walk Through History: Bible Edition · host allthings2allmen

Welcome back to Day 245 of our Walk Through History: Bible Edition. Whether you're joining us in the morning, afternoon, or evening, thank you for making God's Word a part of your day. Today we continue our journey through the book of Ezekiel, reading chapters 21 and 22. In Ezekiel 21, God announces that judgment is no longer a distant warning but an approaching reality. The sharpened sword of Babylon is coming, and the people who spent generations ignoring God's calls to repentance are about to face the consequences of their rebellion. It is a sobering reminder that God is patient and merciful, but He is also just and faithful to His word. Then in Ezekiel 22, the Lord lays out the charges against Jerusalem. Corruption filled every level of society. Leaders, priests, prophets, and people alike had abandoned His commands and pursued their own desires. Yet in the midst of this heartbreaking chapter, we find one of the Bible's most powerful statements when God says He looked for someone to stand in the gap on behalf of the land. It reminds us of the importance of faithful men and women who are willing to pray, intercede, and remain faithful even when the culture around them turns away from God. As you listen today, consider where God may be calling you to stand in the gap for your family, your community, and your generation. His desire has always been for His people to walk in obedience, reflect His character, and point others toward Him. Let's open our hearts, listen carefully to His Word, and begin our reading of Ezekiel 21 and 22.
