Day 249: Ezekiel 31-33

Welcome back to Day 249 of our Walk Through History: Bible Edition. Today we are reading Ezekiel chapters 31 through 33. As we move deeper into Ezekiel, we witness the fall of the mighty and the fulfillment of God's warnings. Chapter 31 compares Pharaoh and Egypt to a great cedar tree that towered above the nations, yet was brought low because of pride. In chapter 32, Ezekiel continues proclaiming judgment over Egypt, reminding us that even the most powerful kingdoms are not beyond God's reach. Then we come to chapter 33, a pivotal chapter in the book of Ezekiel. God renews Ezekiel's calling as a watchman. A watchman stands on the wall, warning people of danger ahead. The message is clear: God desires repentance, not destruction. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but calls people to turn from their sin and live. We also see the heartbreaking confirmation that Jerusalem has fallen, marking a turning point in Ezekiel's ministry and in Israel's history.
