from Legends of Tabletop Podcast · host Legends of Tabletop
Jack Nash – John (Prime) Reggie Carlisle – John (Beta) Decklan Laela- Jesse GM- Tod Foley It’s a quiet day at Dark Matter with no mission currently on deck. Bento has called Reggie and Nash in for a meeting. He explains that it’s been over a week since he's filed the year end report for corporate and he hasn’t gotten a response. Bento admits that’s he's nervous about not only his job but also the fate of the division. Dark Matter as a company makes billions of dollars from their various enterprises but the DayTripping division is just about breaking even. Bento then surprises them both by pulling out a bottle of scotch and starts drinking. Nash and Reggie protest at corporates' inability to recognize their worth but Bento waves it off. As the conversation continues it’s clear that Bento hasn’t just started drinking as he starts slurring his words. He does seem to collect himself somewhat and tells Reggie and Nash that he maybe over thinking things and then he lies down on his couch and “takes a nap." Reggie and Nash leave the office and continue the conversation on their own. As they’re entering the elevator they notice someone they haven’t seen before. The man introduces himself as Decklan Laela and that he's looking for Bento. Decklan clearly has cyber-implants. Nash tells him that Bento is in a meeting. Deck says that he worked for Handfast Mercenaries. There’s a bit of small talk and Deck tells them that Red Handfast has lost the contract with X Investments. Partway through their idle chatter, Deck begins interfacing with the building systems and reroutes the elevator. Reggie grabs him and starts yelling at him to use his words. Nash says they’re going to security to find out who Deck really is. At this point Deck tells them that Dark Matter has hired him and that he’s Julio’s replacement. With this new information, Nash and Reggie give Deck a tour of the building and Nash decides to put Deck through his paces in the holodeck. https://www.birdscoffeecompany.com/coffees/legends-of-tabletop-legendary-brew Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order https://www.patreon.com/legendsoftabletop Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/
