DayTrippers (Season 2 Episode 23-2) The Bottom Line

from Legends of Tabletop Podcast · host Legends of Tabletop

Jack Nash – John (Prime) Reggie Carlisle – John (Beta) Decklan Laela- Jesse GM- Tod Foley Despite his ability to see through the holodeck’s virtual reality Decklan still finds himself subject to its effects. Reggie tackles Deck to the ground slapping him to break him out of his daze. While Reggie and Nash turn to face the Hoom, Deck begins interfacing with the holodeck to try and turn it off. Just as Nash and Reggie take down the Hoom the virtual reality drops as Deck successfully shuts down the simulation. Nash begins lecturing Deck about mission parameters and working as a team. Nash says they’re going to run it again when Deck breaks in and says that there is someone in Bento’s office. He then clarifies and says that there is an incoming virtual call that Bento is on and swipes the call to their PDAs. Bento is talking with Blanche Regardie of X Investments. The call is wrapping up and she tells Bento that she’ll have a division waiting on Oranira 6 as soon as his people are ready. They head down to Bento’s office and he is in much better spirits. Bento explains the situation on Oranira 6. The planet is rich in titanium and there are two rival clans of a sentient slug/lobster creature at war. X Investments wants Dark Matter to provide security and has agreed to pay 100 billion megas. It’s a six month contract and Bento is excited that this is finally going to make the DayTripping division profitable. Nash and Reggie both raise ethical concerns and Nash finally walks out. Bento tells Reggie and Decklan to think about it and get back to him. He says this is the direction the company is going in and that they need to decide if they are going to. They find Nash in the gym working on the heavy bag. After working out some of his frustrations Nash agrees to dinner and Decklan finds a Thai place right near the office. Deck says that he joined Dark Matter to work with Reggie and Nash not to work for Dark Matter per se. Nash still is conflicted about the mission that Bento is proposing and Reggie agrees. Reggie tries to find out where Deck’s loyalties really lay. Deck swipes a file to their PDAs showing a log of computer connections from Somnambula headquarters, including Reggie’s apartment and the Chip’s treatment center. Deck says the Reggie has been under surveillance for months now and not just via the Dreamdeck. Now they have the additional problem of trying to figure out what to do about Somnabula as well. https://www.birdscoffeecompany.com/coffees/legends-of-tabletop-legendary-brew Use Code Legends10 to get 10% off your order https://www.patreon.com/legendsoftabletop Theme music created by Brett Miller http://www.brettmillermusic.net/
