The fun side of the "Get in the Car" era was real. What a time. We didn't have adult responsibilities the way we do today. What we didn't get a chance to talk about was the downside of the "Get in the Car" era. There are times when people were forced to be the designated driver. Or had to take care of someone who was too drunk to take care of themselves, many times. There were friends who took on the responsibility because their friend wouldn’t. And the fire extinguisher incident is a perfect example of a “get in the car” incident where harm was caused, but someone else carried the shame. Yes, the get-in-the-car era was fun.
