What is the ruling class likely to do in response to climate change, in the coming decades? We read and discussed a book, Climate Leviathan, that we were heavily critical of, but which is nonetheless thought provoking. David Wallace-Wells’ The Uninhabitable Earth attempts to sketch answers. “Climate disaster is already with us” is a review of this book. There have been some critical replies, and a debate, following this. The interlocutors both agree the book is worth reading. We read and discussed several different readings on “Degrowth” from a Marxist perspective.
