December 10, 2024, Memorial of Our Lady of Loreto, Holy Rosary (Sorrowful Mysteries)

Friends of the Rosary, Today, December 9, we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of Loreto. This title refers to the house where Mary was born in Nazareth, where the Word was made flesh at the Annunciation. Tradition says that a group of angels miraculously transported the Holy House first to Loreto, on the Adriatic Sea coast of Italy, at the end of the thirteenth century. The shrine of Loreto has been known as a Marian center for centuries. By the 14th century, this shrine in Loreto was one of the most famous shrines to Our Lady in Europe. The Shrine of Loreto has always been highly regarded by Popes, and it is under their direct authority and protection.
