So from Phil Walters we've got a pub with a decent beer garden near work on a quiet Sunday Friday afternoon. Well that is a fantasy. It is a fantasy isn't it? And with that that's our episode.

That's an urban fantasy. I hope that you've got Instagram on it. There's a guy on there called Instagram pages, Dead London Pubs. And I think I've shown you one of his videos before, but he, I don't know what it is.

It's a weird kind of strange vibe review of London Pubs. He's got a love of like, you know, the old style. Yeah. Well even like the modern style pubs, he just describes them in almost the same way.

Like, just the present, the presentation style of it is so weird and so out there. I guess we do something like that with this. It makes London Pubs feel a bit magical. A little bit magical, yeah, sure.

I guess, I thought that Canada's that is, was it Will's End? Isn't it? It's a love letter to London Pubs. But also there's this kind of vibe of like, oh wait, they're all being homogenized into chains.

Yes, yeah. Well, that and I think are quite at Bea Garden on a sunny Friday afternoon. Yeah. It's not a thing you see anymore.

No, because like on a sunny Friday afternoon, everyone wants to be a Bea Garden. Yeah, everyone wants to be in the Bea Garden. So you go to Busy Bea Gardens. You go to Busy Bea Gardens and they're all chains.

So you're all getting the same part. There's no character to it, I guess. You can't just sit around in a Bea Garden. Yeah, nice point.

And then go home after work. No. And I think, yeah, we do something with that. Yeah, I think so.

Yeah. I think maybe this one guy, Simon Pegg. Yeah. Because it's...

Yeah, because it's the world's end. Yeah, because the world's end. And just the image of him, the Winchester, waiting for it all to blow over. Yeah.

And he's just so angry. And I think this one wizard man comes up to him and goes, ah, you want to find the secret Bea Garden. The secret Bea Garden. The secret Bea Garden.

Yes. It's just hands in a key. Yeah, well, hands in a key with a clue. Yeah.

And then there's Wizard's Eye. Why? Which is no brain. No, I don't think it has to be a game show come.

Richard O'Brien, the host of Crystal Maze, for the day, from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Yeah, he's like, oh, take this key and find the Bea Garden. There's a clue. Maybe the...

I don't think there's a clue. I think it's just like some heraldry, a little symbology on it, you know? Like, and he's going around. Like, it's a Friday afternoon.

Yeah. like trying the key on various gates. Cause he's like, oh, it might be somewhere around here. It's probably one of these like Instagram influences or something, you know?

Probably, probably being pranked well, but you know, I might get asked or someone get 20,000 pounds when they found, people leave lying around. Oh yeah, like geocaching and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think there's like a legend of the beer garden of Eden.

Right? And there's like, sort of stained glass images like on the pub wall of like Eve taking a pint from the snake. It was like before the Blitz, there was another pub. Yes.

It is the Eden's arms. Oh yeah. It doesn't have a beer garden, but it used to. Before the Blitz, it used to.

It's still somewhere else in this neighborhood. Yeah, it's kind of, it's just sort of merged in around where they've redeveloped it and they put a load of new pubs. It's triangulated with all these brand new pubs. And it's like right in the middle where it's like a nice, sunny area.

And you can get a pint from any pub and like walk through the door. It's like a... If you know where to look. Yeah, it's like a sort of Doctor Strange kind of like, you go into like, it's the private door in almost.

And this is a story about hubris because it's like a, you know, he tells his friends. Yeah. He tells maybe too many of his friends. And then suddenly it's no longer a quiet beer garden.

Suddenly it's getting attention from everywhere. Someone's taking over. And yeah, there you go. Like the threat is it's going to be taken over.

They have to try and stop it from being a branded, carling thing. The sun is blocked out by billboards over the side. And then just before they build like a pub next to it, it disappears. Yeah, can't find it.

Never to be found again. Yeah. The mystery of the beer garden, the Eden. I like that.

That's got a kind of... The original scene was telling people about it. Yeah. Very much like the best pubs are the ones where like, the little hidden gems that no one knows about.

And it's like, yeah, the moment they become popular, that's when they're ruined. Yeah, yeah. That's a film about that. So, because we used to work at a pub that's now been...

That's happened. Yeah. Although I've heard it's better than it was. OK.

They've got rid of the big neon sign. OK. That's all right. I'm not been in.

I live just around the corner for it. I've never been back in person since I've been stopped. You've got to be a drummer attached to it. Yeah, I guess.

But like, yeah, that was an amazing place. Yeah, it was. It was a jukebox that was curated so that no one could dance to music. Yeah.

Because like, it was a tiny little corner pub who wants to... Yeah, it was a dance floor. Yeah, it was a no dance floor. Why would anyone dance?

And if they did, they'd probably knock someone's pineapple. And the music in there was amazing. Yeah, it was. It was great.

Good stuff. Good vibe. Good stuff. Now it's all gone.

It's part of a chain. Yeah. Yeah. It was our beer garden of Eden.

It was our beer garden of Eden. I do want to talk briefly about the nice sort of low key fascination with rewards in game shows. Sure. OK.

Because I don't think they've gone up with inflation. No. I'm thinking like, who has to be a millionaire? He's still who wants to be a millionaire.

Yeah, I mean, that's still quite a lot of money. It was quite a lot of money back then when it started. It's a lot of money now still. But when I found out when we were watching the Apprentice the other day, that the winning person gets to be Alan Sugar's apprentice, he'll help them with like their business.

And yeah, kickstart that. The money he's investing is quarter of a million pounds. Oh my god. Which is like in today's day, if you want to try to make a business in London, that's not enough.

Yeah, it's like it's nothing. It's a pebble in the river in terms of what you actually need to get like a proper big business off the ground. Like they're dreaming like not as big enough, not big enough if they're going on like a Francis. Yeah.

It's hilarious. Like it's the same with deal or no deal. That's quarter of a million. I mean, that's always been like, there's a show called who wants to be a millionaire, giving away money that's way less than this.

Yes. Like, yeah, for less. I imagine the dream is that Alan Sugar has loads of business contacts that once you get your £250,000. You get a bit more from a grown- You also get deals and- Yes.

Yeah, but I think that's the real thing. But it just shocked me. I was like, what the fuck? Not that.

That was, what is it? There's this new destination X now. It's basically Geoguesa with more steps. Yeah.

And it frustrates the grand-acting. Because it's like, just put them out somewhere and get them to find where they are. Just hit on with it. Why are you giving all these clues that are red herring for something?

It's fucking bizarre. Just, yeah, I want to strangle the person who wrote it. But yeah, that's 100 grand. Yeah.

And that doesn't seem like that much anymore. I like the tipping point ones and the quiz show ones that are like £1,000. Yeah. I mean, like, we can sling back in the day.

Wasn't much. I think they could only- They may at best they manage £20,000. Yeah, if that. Yeah.

If that. Same with the chase. Yeah. There is like, there's no winning to any of this.

It's mainly a prestige thing. Yeah. It's like, oh, I was on this game show at one point. It's like, compared to who wants to be a millionaire, which gave around £64,000 out every episode.

The winning's aren't enough. It's so weird. Yeah. But I guess quiz shows, you know, in a way they are.

There's too many of them. Very much cheap to film. They are cheap to make. And yeah, if the prize winning is also cheap as well.

Yeah. Easy TV. Very easy TV. Who's watching it?

People who don't work. That's- To them. That's a lot of money. Yeah.

But yeah, I just wanted to see, yeah, thoughts on that. I was like, I was watching a show the other day. I was like, what has happened here? What's going on?

Like, who wants to be a millionaire is still the peak. And like, it doesn't require any fucking look. Or like, mystical energy or whatever you get from deal or no deal. Or like, you think you can curse someone?

Yeah. Yeah, it's just like, you just have to be good at general knowledge. Yeah. Yeah.

I mean, what's the price for Big Brother? I'm pretty sure that's like a million, isn't it? I can't remember. But it's like, I know that it's- If you say when you've looked at it, it was like £5,000.

And you're in there for months. I think it was two months originally. Now it's a bit longer. If it's still going on, like a Simpsons, who knows what's going on.

But, yeah, that's so that was- We should do another three-art TV episodes. Oh yeah. We're getting there. We're getting there.

I think we've got these knowledge in this. We're just having them. We've got a hanger in this one. Yeah.

Maybe a game show. Game show, yeah. So that was- so you think you can curse someone and get away with it. LAUGHTER You add some thoughts on Urban Fantasy.

Urban Fantasy, yeah, I've had some thoughts on it. But they've immediately just gone from my brain. Like, any creativity into Urban Fantasy, really? Yeah, no, there's not been a lot of that recently.

It's a great energy to go into Urban Fantasy. On the way over here, I had the same feeling. And because I was like, what blade? And then, I think, is he asking me, like, what films are Urban Fantasy?

I was like, yeah, great. And then you stopped there. And then I stopped. Yeah.

I was like, what else? Because everything else tends to be magic portal fantasy, right? It's more interesting to take it into the CG world of all the weird stuff. I guess there's a big crossover.

There is- But like- I'm a potter sort of crosses over that bridge. You're right, yeah, absolutely. Crosses over that bridge in Scotland. Yeah, because the one that's like a curge.

Yeah, yeah. The famous one, everyone knows. Yeah. But could never point to one of Matt's.

Yes, please. It's just- it's just- it's just- There, it's just called somewhere. We don't know. It's just still wearing a spot.

Yeah, so here's my guide to Urban Fantasy. Like, and this really like- Sorry, I just love the idea of the Scottish Tori sport taking a photo of that. It's actually in England. Yeah.

But no one in England can clarify the wearing is it? Yeah, I know, yeah. So Scotland's like, it's ours. We have it, yeah, yeah.

Don't ask where, yeah. But where in Scotland is this Scottish Tori sport? It's just right, no, E. Urban Fantasy, right?

Sorry, I just derailed on a bit about the Scottish Tori sport. Sneaking bridges into their photos. I think the way you get excited about Urban Fantasy is this. As you don't, right?

You go in half-baked and then come out thinking, that was better than I expected. It's all, how are these guys living in our society the whole time? Good show. Right?

Yeah, yeah. Like, it's all how, like, what was it called? What was it called? Was it humans?

What was it called? The- being human. Well, there's a vampire ghost at a werewolf. Exactly, right?

And that series got, like, had legs because it was like, what's a vampire society? Another, but what's the werewolf society like? Yeah. What's the- what's the kind of- Was it like being a ghost?

Like, what's that whole thing all about? I love how you've not brought up what we do in the shadows. No, because that's essentially the same thing as me. Yeah, exactly.

That's comedy of what if these guys were here the whole time? Here's the intricate lore of where- what pockets of our world they live in? Yeah. I think it's very easy with vampires because it's like- There's already so much pre-established lore.

Exactly, yeah. And blade, you look at blade and you're like, there's a really- do much with it, right? Like, oh, sure, there's a nightclub where blood drooped from the walls. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

That's- that's all you can say about Blade 1. There's a nightclub. Yeah. Like, that's it.

That's all anyone remembers. That's- well, no, that's not the only thing I remember, but certainly it's the only place that I believe the vampires- at any point are assumed to amesh with society. Yeah, yeah. Like, in, um, uh, Blade 2, you have a bunch of vampires in a, um, in like a sort of- they're in like a really nice studio apartment.

Mm, yeah. Going back to the blood, uh, nightclub. The blood nightclub, of course, yeah, yeah. That is very much- because I can't remember anything about Blade.

I think there are scenes- She got into, uh, Ash Roush, she'll watch it again. No. No, that's- I'm not watching the movies again. They're not that bad.

I've watched them. First one's definitely the best. Oh, yeah. I actually know, was it the second?

Because we watched them like within the same week during- Yes, it is. Like, this is- like, this is why I'm thinking like, I can't remember if it's Blade 1 or Blade 3, some scenes are from. Um, Blade 3, uh, fucking awful. Yeah.

Uh, Ramin Alton. Yes. Yeah. And Pan as well.

Yeah. He lives on the barge. Yes, he is. Yeah, yeah.

Um, whereas- Look it up. Yeah. Look at the McBarge if you don't know what the McBarge is. Yeah, yeah.

It was funny because when we watched that film, I was like, that's the McBarge. And we were like, what the fuck are you talking about? It was like, look it up for McBarge. The McBarge.

And it's my boat. Yeah. Um, uh- I don't remember anything. Like, the thing is, the Blood Knight Club scene from Blade 1 is very much the rolling boulder scene from Inhema Jones.

Everyone remembers that bit. Yeah. And it's in the first five minutes of the movie. It's in like the opening sort of- It is, yeah.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's- and like, with good reason, right? Yeah. I mean, it's a very impactful scene.

It's very like, it sets the scene very well. Um, the fallout from that is where a huge part of the plot comes from. Um, yeah. It's, uh, like, it's- it's good.

Mm. Then we get a lot of establishing stuff with, um, I watched his name, um, uh, his mate- his- his- his human mate is, uh- Oh, uh, the- the- the guy at the old man, yeah. Um, he's got a name. He does have a name.

He does have a name. He's on the, uh, Donnie and Marisha Star Wars special. Yeah. We were obsessed with him a few years ago.

Yeah. I can't remember what his name was. I- any other day I'd be able to immediately tell you who it is. Yeah.

Yeah. My- my brain's gone for names today. Um, anyway, uh, spend a bit of time learning about him, learning about Blade, Lore of Blade. You don't learn about Lore of Vampires, you learn about Lore of Blade.

Yes. Um, and, uh, the more they lean into that in that series, the worse it gets. Yeah, yeah. It's like, um, the Lore of Star Wars, isn't it?

The more they lean into the Lore, the worse the films get. Yeah. Whereas, like, in Blade 2, where- yeah, when it's a Taurus, like Blade, it's not personal. Um, there's just zombies in the sewers and you would have blown them up with daylight bombs.

Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha. Yes, that's what I want to do, yes. I love it. I love making films.

He really does. Yeah. Like a little bawl, like a little hamster. He's like, if a hamster had a director's chair.

Yeah. Yeah. That's what he- My neighbor does- My neighbor does- My neighbor does- My neighbor does- All right. Um, so, uh, yeah, like, I think the urban fantasy is exciting when you consider that just around the corner might be a bookshop or an antique shop, in which somewhere in the back of it's a book.

Yeah. Like, um, that can teach you how to do magic. But you're also a book of spells. But the magic comes at a cost.

Yeah. So the bookkeeper, the bookseller, keeps it secret in a- secret, per area in the back that you know how to go into. Well, this- you're saying this was a lot so many more films than Blade, in my mind. Like, Germanji.

Yep. Gremlins. Yeah. Um, yes, 100%.

Yeah, what was the other one? Er, in Paddington. What's magic about Paddington? He's a talking bear.

He's very much the exception. He is very much the exception. He is very much the exception. He does fall into the whole sort of ET category of just- Yeah.

Friendly critter. Friendly critter. Friendly critter. Ruining your house.

Um, I just- I heard Auntie shop. I was like, oh yeah, Paddington works on Auntie shop. Don't forget that. I've never seen Paddington one.

You've only seen Paddington one? No, I've never seen Paddington one. I've only seen Paddington two. That is arguably the best one.

Maybe one to be a bad person. It made you want to be a bad person. A better person. It did.

It did. It's a very, very fun silly movie Paddington. It has no right to be as good. Yeah, and like, it makes- and that, the way things are, the status quo in Paddington two, the way things kind of are at the start, makes me believe that I don't want to see Paddington one.

Yeah. Because I think Paddington one, as I've said probably before on the show, I believe that Paddington one is going to be a Beethoven situation. Dad does not want to keep Paddington. Oh yeah.

No, no, Paddington one is essentially Beethoven. Yeah, they try and test out bullet guns- bullet guns- bullet guns- bullet guns- in school. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's, I think just, Nick Alkington wants a taxi-dermy Paddington.

Is that real? Yeah, yeah. Oh my god. I say it is.

She works for the museum. Yeah. So she wants him as a specimen. A bear from darkest Peru.

Darkest Peru. Yeah. You said it was an urban fantasy movie. Yeah.

I stand by that. I'll take that to my grave. That's the hill I will die on. That's the little Mac and Red Ring hat.

Mac and me hat. Oh god. Oh god. What else was there?

Onward, the Pixar movie. Sure. It's kind of a reversal of it. Yes, it is.

It's like urban fantasy. Oh, it's fantasy urban. Yes, yeah, yeah. It's fantasy, but it's in modern day.

Same with Bright, I suppose. Yes, Bright the chip will Smith TV. It's called Bright, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.

It's, yeah. Effectively onwards a better version of that. But as with most things, I think we've had chats about Monster Zinc a lot. Yes.

And how the world doesn't really kind of make sense. With Monster Zinc, I give it a pass because it's so, basically hinges on one thing being true and that's Monster's come out of your closet. Yeah. That's the thing it builds from and it's kind of just like.

If we assume, I think my problem, yeah, the hand wave is actually not early enough in their thought process. Yeah, yeah. It's like, it's like the regular world. Yeah.

But Monster's come out of your closet at night. And in my head, I'm going like, but if Monster's come out of your closet at night, we don't have the regular world, no, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But also like the Monster World, if you think about it even for like five minutes, like that Monster's University just sort of took it to this extreme where there's a slug guy saying, I'll be late for class and then just like, he can't get any for all that.

How does he perform in this society? Yes, how does anyone do anything in this society? Yeah, like the world building stops at page one with Monster Zinc. Onward sets up a world like you don't see the beginning of the world of Monster Zinc.

With Onward, they actively tell you what has happened. It's a fancy world that has just miraculously grown to be just like our world, just with fantasy races and stuff. Yeah, that's it. Yeah.

And it's because it says, oh, there is a world here. Yeah. Like actively tells you this is what happened. Yeah.

You start to pick out more and more problems with it as you go along. Yeah, because the focus it becomes on the details. So if you see, whereas Monster Zinc's solution to this problem is, don't worry about it. Yeah, don't worry about it.

Here's curtain. Eventually you do, like if you're anyone but me, apparently, eventually you do forget the curtains there. Yeah. Right?

Yeah. Well, you stuff all the world building in the closet and people don't open it. Yeah. Yeah.

And it seems to work for most people. Most people really love that movie. Yeah. Yeah.

And then it is held by the lightning in the bottle chemistry of Billy Crystal and Dr. 100% of the city just gets so good. Yeah, yeah. It's so good.

So, but then onward, yeah, like the world building's out there. And so you're like, oh, hang on. And you're doing mass as you go. Yeah.

You're like, you're doing world building. If this then, if this then, if this then, and they've made most of it work. But every time they want to make a joke about our world, same actually, it seems to apply it to bright. Every time you want to make a joke about our world, you have to put something.

You know, it works for Flintstones as well. And you have to put something in there, which for no reason other than narrative convenience conforms to the shape of our world. Yeah. It is the Flintstones problem.

Yeah. And he Flintstones, there's a big old hand wave. It's a stupid cartoon. We know that cavemen didn't have jobs.

Yeah. Right? Are you telling me? Are you telling me a caveman didn't blow a whistle that was put, that was essentially pulling on the tail of a giant bird?

I've jumped out of a crane, which was just a big dinosaur, and slid down its neck and down its tail into his car. Many people are saying this. Many people are saying that didn't happen. Um, I think it's talking absolutely really.

We have archaeological evidence. I saw a video of a man sliding down a dinosaur's neck into his car. I've seen it. I said, wow.

I saw it on a television. Very sad. Very sad. That's a fast car for a man with his feet on the ground.

I said, look, if all these cars could be ran by pedal, we wouldn't be getting gas from the Saudis, would we? Another don't? Yeah, we need to cut this out. We need to stop doing this.

Um, so, point me, Flintstones are easy to, easy to, um, uh, to hand with. In onward, like, you are- It wants you to take it seriously. Exactly. It wants to be taken seriously.

Yeah. Um, to some degree, because I still think it's a great movie. Um, and it does, it does some fun things with the, but like, the dragon at the end is incredible. The dragon, um, basically the dragon is pulled together by a load of gas.

Um, it's a stone dragon, so it's pulled together by a load of gas. The closest thing to it is a school with a cartoon dragon painted on its side. Uh, say, go dragons. Yes.

And so it's got this really happy dragon face printed on the top of its face. And when it roars, it's the school bell. That's great. It's so good.

It's like, it's like something we would have come up with. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good. I think you might have won one one again, because I remember it being fairly forgettable.

Like, at least, I mean, I did watch it during the pandemic. It came out, it was straight to streaming as well. Um, but like, it came out just before the pandemic, I think. Oh, so one of the casualties of like, nobody's going to see anymore.

Yeah, yeah. Like, um, very much like in Kanto, I think where it was like, that kind of like, oh, can we go cinema ever again? Yeah. And kind of thing.

Yeah. Um, in Kanto. Yeah. Urban fantasy.

Kind of. Kind of, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

I guess so. Yeah. It's, it's like, uh, in Kanto has this wild, I'm going to be talking, I think, here, um, about just as an aside to my side to myself. We're going to be talking quite a lot about like, how magic fits into real world stuff.

Yes. Which is going to sound, and this is a, uh, a caveat to you listeners. This is going to sound like a lot of fucking, uh, other film podcasts that like take, take shots. Yeah.

Right. Take like, um, cinema sins, esque, like, oh, that doesn't work like that because, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's like, no, we are, I promise we are trying to engage with the magic of the, of the movie, the world, right? Yeah.

Right. Um, and Kanto does some really interesting things where, um, it, you, you can try and figure out where it is. You can try and figure out like, there are lots of flashbacks where you're like, oh, what part of history was that? Like, what major historical upset was that?

Yeah. Yeah. That like led to just, we were not talking about it. We're not talking about the context.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Do the fantasy.

Do the fantasy. Yeah. We're doing a fantasy silly house thing. Yeah.

We're doing generational trauma. Don't talk about where the trauma came from. Yes. Yeah.

Yeah. And we'll just, uh, we'll just blend over it in a montage. But if you know, you know, with some music. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. If you want to do the research, you can. Exactly.

And I kind of dig that and I kind of, uh, it does suggest that like, Encanto is in a place, is in the real world. The magic is there. Yeah. You just got to find it in the mountains.

Yes. Yeah. And I totally dig that. Yeah.

Um, it always, the fantasy always brings me back to role-playing game to play. Um, the kind of world of darkness series, which are like, vampire the masquerade, which has been, there's been a lot of stuff. I don't know if they've had a movie, but they've certainly had lots and lots of video game and things. Yeah.

Um, vampire masquerade, I just couldn't. I can't get into it, right? At all. Yeah.

I've got no major interest in vampires or vampire like, um, like, law, right? I don't, I, I, I, it doesn't tickle me in the way that there's some people. Yeah. I also think that if I, if you play vampire masquerade, this is just a register.

You didn't ask for a tabletop RPG opinion, but here is one. Um, I think if you go into vampire masquerade, like the name of your new podcast. Circles. Um, I imagine there are going to be some people who, you're going to have to kind of gate keep that very carefully, because there's going to be some people who are getting off and telling stories about predation.

Yeah. Um, like they're going to get their kicks, you know, pretending to be a predator, hiding in the darkness and picking off weak people. Well, isn't that what the game is about? No.

Like, no, like, you know, vampire masquerade really in its essence is about, um, survival and like it's about otherness, right? It's about like a curse. Like let's get rid of the masquerade parties. Yeah.

Vampire stuff is about otherness. Yeah. It's about having to, um, like, if you're the victim of a vampire, Dracula, for instance, not Svaratu. Yeah.

Um, it is about that Victorian idea of, um, the excess, right? Someone rich coming down to bed out upon you. But urban fantasy vampires oftentimes we tell stories from the perspective of the vampire, right? Yeah.

In which case it becomes about otherness, about counterculture, about, um, the way that you have to try and keep yourself and your people alive. Yes. It can be about queerness. Yeah, yeah.

Um, that's, that's quite a good point actually. Like it, it, the way it's told can totally shift stuff. And it can be about privilege. Yeah.

It can be about the way that like your, um, otherness, other people's privilege is translated into your otherness. So, um, there might be like, in vampire masquerade, we'll come back to it. There are groups of vampires that do lordy over the world. Yeah.

A whole family of vampires, but then there are other families of vampires who are all like mutated and weird and like, kind of hiding the sewers, right? So, um, you like have this diverse plethora of stories you can tell with just one idea. And then we go back to blade. Yeah.

Yeah. It's bled, blade is that as well. Yeah. Yeah.

Like, how's that all in it? But like, doesn't focus on it at all. Uh, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

Um, uh, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what was it? Um, sinners. Yes, I was going to get to sinners because there's a really fun link between blade and sinners. Is that?

Yes. So, um, Ryan Coogler. Was it those sunglasses? Cause, uh, so, um, apparently, I think it was Ryan Coogler at one point was down to direct blade.

Yeah. He was one of the many people, or like direct, right, something, something on those lines, or like, because he was involved with Disney, uh, making Black Panther on top of that. Sure. Blade at one point was apparently meant to be a period.

Do you think Sinners turned into, they turned into Sinners? No, no, no. What actually happened was because they had a load of costumes flying around for Blade. Because they put it into pre-production.

Let's get a load of periods, 1920s costumes. Interesting. And they weren't going to make the movie. Ryan Coogler apparently got a discount.

It just bought a lot. Well, it rented them from Disney. Because they just had a load lying around. They weren't using for Blade because of the development of Hellblades in.

So they got to use all the costumes for Ciddos. So there is a weird kind of 1920s vampire link to that. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, so we're the development of Hell of Blade.

It's something that's been going on for six years, I think. Something like that. They have to, like, before end game. I mean, the development of Hell of Blade is almost the story of Blade, right?

It's almost the story of Blade in the cinema. Like, Ashrow is constantly talking about how the spirit of Blade infects the minds. Infected Wesley Snipes. Slowly took over Wesley Snipes' brain.

So Wesley Snipes still feels like he's Blade. He was Blade in Deadpool last year. And now it's happening to him to match the game. Yeah, we watched at least a battle angel.

Yes, we did. And then, like, I like about the post. Like, people blade the Marvel one, but it's not the Deadpool one. It's so in Hell.

They haven't released any screens of Mahashua LA as Blade. So people, when they do articles about the new Blade, they're still using that screen of Vector in his Black and Scoped Circular Black. Because it's just like, oh, we need that guy wearing sunglasses. Because that's what Blade's all about.

One of my favourite things about the Blade development Hell is the fact that not only they've announced it at Comic-Cons and stuff, they brought Mahashua out. The Comic-Con. This is going to be our new Blade. Check out this guy.

Ten years later. Nothing. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Sinners. Sinners has been conceptualised, written and produced and released. I wonder. I wonder what's going on in there.

Yeah, it's, but like, they've not only been in Comic-Con, but at the end, does a post credit seem to the Eternals? Yeah, there's the Magic Sword. The Magic Sword? The Kherrington House.

Yeah. Like, I wonder if that is part of the reason why the development Hell's still there. It's like, we've got to make this work. I think more likely is that the Turtles were not well received.

Yes. I wonder if it dropped down a couple of people's priority lists. Yeah. Like, after Eternals, after, like, some of the stuff that came out in that era didn't really get particularly great receipt, you know, it was mildly quite well, then it all just came out fine.

Yeah. Yeah. Like, pandemic stuff, right? Yeah.

We're still feeling the pandemic. It seems like it. I mean, we are re- like ringing the Marvel Bell for this, but it's quite because it's that's Eternals and fantasy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
