Dena Argyropoulou - Meditation & Mindfulness The Hows and Whys

from WomanUp - There's only one you · host WomanUp

In this week's episode, we had the opportunity to interview the lovely Dena Argyropoulou. Dena Argyropoulou is a meditation instructor and creator of ‘THE ONE FIERCE HEART Podcast’, where she talks to teachers and practitioners about the transformative power of meditation. She's also the author of ‘CLARITY OF MIND IS POWER’: a five-week journal to support your meditation practice and train your mind to see clearly. She currently lives in Athens, Greece and after living in California for 19 years she misses maple glazed donuts the most. Connect with her and find guided meditations, her podcast and journal at: theonefierceheart.com. In our chat with Dena… We get to talk about meditation and mindfulness. Headspace and Calm are the 2 top meditation apps that sit in the million dollar business. Even though meditation has been around for 2500 years, only just now we start to really appreciate it and understand all the benefits that come with the practice of this powerful tool. Dena’s journey began with a heartbreak that led her to seek healing. She tried to navigate grief, loss and difficult emotions using meditation. As Dena says “I didn’t know how to be human”. The key to a fulfilled life is to make sure you are practicing mindfulness. That you are mindfully choosing and experiencing everything in your life, every single time. We get to touch base on the different types of meditation and how you can try them all out until you find the one that works for you, IF it does. According to Dena and her studies, meditation is not for everyone. “Mindfulness is what you're paying attention to, without judgement.” Finally we expand on journaling, the meditation practice Dena is teaching and the benefits of meditation. Some examples being stress reduction, better sleep patterns, memory loss prevention etc. Success to Dena is: “Be free to make my own choices that feel right for me.” Dena’s message to women is: “Trust yourself.” To connect with Dena find her on the following platforms: IG: @dena.argyropoulou Website: theonefierceheart.com.
