Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 These verses, called ‘the shema’ (Hebrew for ‘hear’, or ‘listen’) are at the heart of Deuteronomy. It’s a book that sounds the call again and again to listen carefully and to love God deeply and truly. This week, we’ll be looking at chapter 4 together.
