第31回鸦片战争：林则徐——誓要“禁绝鸦片”的能臣

公元1838年，道光十八年十一月二十三，林则徐受命前往广州，查禁鸦片。 到任后，他于第二年的二月初四（3月19日）会同两广总督邓廷桢等人，通知十三行洋商：限期上缴鸦片，并且严正声明：“鸦片一日不绝，本大人一日不回，誓与此事相始终，断无中止之理。（《谕各国夷人呈缴烟土稿》）”当时，这些鸦片商还想着像以前那样给点钱完事儿，所以英国商务代表义律也想按套路来对付这位钦差大臣……
