安提帕特的死标志着第一代继业者全部退场，形成巨大的权力真空，很多觊觎权力的野心家开始蠢蠢欲动。 首先走到权力核心的是两位安提帕特的继承人。一个是他血统的继承人卡山德，还有一个是他指定的权力继承人波利伯孔。 作为佩尔迪卡斯的下属，欧迈尼斯本来是波利伯孔的敌人，但是他为了稳定住亚洲的局势，他不得不拉拢欧迈尼斯。他还想拉拢老太后——亚历山大的母亲奥林匹亚丝。在欧迈尼斯的建议下，奥林匹亚丝按兵不动。 波利伯孔为了清理安提帕特的残余力量，在全希腊推动民主派。雅典却被卡山德手下的尼卡诺尔攻陷了雅典的港口和城堡。波利伯孔派自己的儿子亚历山大去雅典稳定局势。雅典的寡头派被清理，但是港口被卡山德控制，雅典遭到围困，波利伯孔不得不撤出军队。 但是波利伯孔在伯罗奔尼撒半岛的失败让自己陷入困境。后面会怎么发展呢？下回再说。波利伯孔卡山德钱币奥林匹亚丝金币
