I've been pretty busy lately. We dropped our daughter off at her first year of college, vacationing for a week in the Orcas, and attended a friend's wedding in Seattle. When we got back, I was busy transitioning office managers and seeing more patients than usual to make up for my absence. In between being on the road and making up for my lost clinic hours, I was considering rerunning a previous episode so I can take a little breather. Then I remembered the one question my patients ask me when I check them out: "What do you look for when you look at my tongue?" and decided to make a short episode about it.

In today's episode, I'll share with you what we look for when looking at your tongue, how to read the tongue, and what it can tell you when it comes to your health and internal organs. This is basically an intro to Tongue Diagnosis.

"The tongue is like a little map of the body." – Brodie Welch, L.Ac.

  • How Tongue diagnosis compares to what acupuncturists do
  • How accurate can diagnosis be?

  • What does a normal tongue look like?
  • Colors, coats, and shape of the tongue and the illnesses and issues they indicate.
  • Tips on improving your life right now based on what you learned.

Key Takeaway:

  • Tongue scrapers are a good health investment.
  • Whatever you see in your tongue is not 100% an indicator of what's going on your body.
