Did Anyone Listen When Lindsay Clancy Was Warned?

from True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews · host Real Story Media

In late 2022, a psychiatric nurse practitioner told Lindsay Clancy and her husband that Clancy might have an underlying bipolar disorder. The antidepressant prescriptions kept going. The case involves three counts of first-degree murder, pleaded not guilty, after January 24, 2023 is the date all three died. She has never denied it. The defense frames this as postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder negating responsibility. Prosecutors argue she acted with clear intent and should answer for it.Tony Brueski and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott close out the series on the diagnosis and what it explains.Dr. Tufts testified the December 2022 bipolar question closed on the absence of mania. Clancy disagreed with the diagnosis, and the discharge paperwork read severe depression with no psychotic features noted.Shavaun explains bipolar I in plain terms, walks through why the average diagnostic delay runs six to ten years, and addresses what four months of anxiety and depression treatment could not account for.She gives the honest read on antidepressants and bipolar patients rather than the convenient one. The research conflicts, and a toxicology expert testified Clancy's drug levels were low.Shavaun Scott's published work includes Nightbird.Clancy scored 21 out of 30 on a depression scale with Jollotta on December 6, 2022, and Jollotta testified she saw no psychosis or mania that day. Clancy's lawsuit says a Columbia psychiatrist spent eight hours with her after the deaths and diagnosed bipolar disorder with psychosis and anxious distress with postpartum onset. Shavaun explains why depression is almost always the first label a clinician reaches for, and why a patient disagreeing with a bipolar diagnosis is part of the clinical picture rather than a reason to close the file.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
