Did d4vd's Defense Just Destroy The Chainsaw Evidence?!

from Hidden Killers Live! Daily True Crime News & Breakdowns · host Hidden Killers Podcast

d4vd — defense attorney Blair Berk cross-examined LAPD investigators at the preliminary hearing and established that every chainsaw recovered from the defendant's home tested negative for blood. No DNA testing followed. Prosecutors had entered those tools as central to the alleged cover-up of Celeste Rivas Hernandez's death. The defense says the prosecution's own lab results contradict that theory.Prosecutors presented a detailed timeline of online purchases made under aliases — chainsaws, a cadaver bag labeled "City Morgue," heavy-duty laundry bags, a burn cage, an inflatable pool — all allegedly shipped to the defendant's address and paid for with his own accounts. The digital trail is damning on paper. But Berk attacked how evidence was handled at the scene: the cadaver bag was not fully preserved and the burn cage was not collected during the initial search. The hearing also put financials into the record — over ten million dollars in earnings. The defense countered by showing the defendant's mother and manager controlled spending, attempting to undercut the financial-motive special circumstance.Eric Faddis examines whether the defense accomplished real damage at this hearing or whether the prosecution's digital evidence carries the case regardless of the physical gaps.Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
