In verses 6 through 9 Jesus explains that He "is not going up to this festival." Then in verse 10 Jesus does the opposite of what he told his brothers! After Jesus's brothers left for the festival, then Jesus went privately "in secret". Whatever Jesus's reason was to go, Jesus lied to his brothers!
