Did The State Find Something In Nolan Wells' Throat?!

from True Crime Today | Daily True Crime News & Interviews · host Real Story Media

Eighteen-year-old Nolan Wells went to a boat party on Horn Island, Mississippi, over the Fourth of July. He was the only one of the group who did not return. He was the only Black member of the group. His body was found by a park ranger two days later.During the first autopsy, the state retained his throat. The trachea, hyoid bone, and laryngeal cartilage were all kept. Nineteen days later, the state has released nothing about what they found in those structures. The family's independent pathologist said that kind of retention is standard when there is concern about compression. The family's independent autopsy returned undetermined as both cause and manner of death. The pathologist said he could not rule out non-accidental factors. Seven questions from that examination remain unanswered. The official state autopsy is still pending. The DA has referred the death investigation to a grand jury. That body has subpoena power the sheriff does not. It can compel sworn testimony under penalty of perjury. The friends who were on the island have been telling their version publicly. Whether those versions survive an oath is the question this investigation is now designed to answer.Whether the public statements made by the people who were there hold up under sworn testimony is a question the grand jury is designed to answer. And the phones belonging to Nolan and every friend in that group will produce a digital trail of every message, every search, every deletion, and every gap. Digital forensics does not rely on anyone's recollection.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the throat retention, the grand jury path, what the phone data will reveal, and how long investigations like this take before producing answers.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
