Diederik Peeters & Haunted Machines - 16 novembre 2017

from La Bellone - One to one

En anglais. In the frame of the research-residencies we offer the possibility of organising two public encounters between the artist in residence and a person of his choice, addressing topics linked to the thematics that are dealt with during the residence. This One to One is actually a One to Two, as Diederik Peeters invited Tobias Revell and Natalie Kane (UK), aka Haunted Machines. For his project « Apparitions » (working title) Peeters investigates the notion of the voice without a body, and the alleged relation between this « disembodied » voice, death and afterlife. He's interested in the apparent opposition to between the world of science and technology and that of magic, the occult and the supernatural. This opposition hasn't always been evident, and maybe still isn't. For this One to One Peeters is happy to have a talk with Tobias Revell and Natalie Kane, the duo behind Haunted Machines, a curatorial and research project exploring narratives of myth, magic and haunting around technology.
