Diet Trials and Tribulations: Diets and Dermatology

In this podcast, we will discuss the elimination diet trial, the gold and only standard for evaluation of food allergy in dogs and cats. The focus will be on three cases highlighting the challenges of providing finding the right therapeutic diet for a variety of patients with differing medical and nutritional needs while still meeting the goal of an elimination diet. We will cover strategies for success in ensuring compliance, identifying possible pitfalls in setting up owners and patients for success, and how, ultimately, to ensure the elimination diet trial is performed correctly to rule in or out food allergies as a component of atopic syndromes in our domestic pets.
