These patients can suffer from frequent symptoms and frightening, unpredictable attacks.It is important to identify patients who may have severe asthma, and to differentiate them from those with difficult-to-treat asthma. It is important to identify patients who may have severe asthma, and to differentiate them from those with difficult-to-treat asthma. They need to be referred to respiratory specialists promptly for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment.
