Karim Aïnouz made his feature film debut at Cannes in 2002, with Madame Satã. Since then, he has won numerous prizes throughout the world. He has also been the directing assistant to Todd Haynes and worked as an editor. His work, The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão, which won the Un Certain Regard competition at Cannes last year, and is included in this year’s Focus: Brazil, will be screened at the festival. Meet one of contemporary Brazil’s biggest film names in a discussion about film, careers and what it is like operating in a film country under great strain. Moderator: Cecilia Torquato de Oliveira, Director and Producer.
