Discos Ocultos - Jo Jo Gunne - "Jo Jo Gunne" (1972)

Hoy nos vamos a centrar en comentar y escuchar el primer álbum de la banda californiana Jo Jo Gunne, publicado en 1972. Nombrados por su vocalista con el título de una canción se Chuck Berry, los Gunne se forman tras separarse Jay Ferguson y Mark Anders del grupo de rock psicodélico Spirit, algo cansados de la falta de éxito del grupo de Los Angeles. Junto al hermano de Mark, Matt a la guitarra y la batería de William "Curly" Smith, el debut del grupo en el sello de David Geffen, Asylum Records, destaca entre sus compañeros de sello, más cercanos al movimiento de cantautor (Linda Rondstadt, JD Souther etc...) por su concepto desenfadado de Hard Rock con toques progresivos y de pop, siendo muy refrescante su sonido. Así, escucharemos su "Run, Run, Run" top 10 en Reino Unido, o la también magníficas "Babylon" o "Take It Easy". No os perdáis esta maravilla del género algo oculta por el paso de los años, vamos juntos a descubrirla!
