Listen in to our first caller Cameron, who fears the difficulties of having to find a new group to spend time with since his previous friends have shut him out. Nancy advises Cameron to reach out to one of his former friends to get an understanding of why they no longer communicate and use that knowledge to connect with others. By realizing that people can outgrow each other, Cameron can move on. He can join school clubs and other social groups to meet new companions and build stronger relationships. Our second caller is Emily, a recent college graduate who moved back home. Emily is struggling with how to respectfully communicate with her parents about maintaining independence. Nancy instructs Emily to come up with a manageable way to contribute to her parents. Changing the arrangement so that it is more professional will allow Emily’s parents to understand that giving her freedom is necessary.Our inspirational guest is Jonathan Berenguer, who has faced several tragedies such as the death of his parents when he was a child. Jonathan was able to overcome dark times by looking up to role models who taught him to be the best version of himself. Finding faith in God allowed Jonathan to realize his purpose. Through hard work and stepping outside of his comfort zone, Jonathan was able to achieve success and see the value in life.Our last caller Petria is having difficulty maintaining a healthy relationship with her mother due to their opposite viewpoints. Nancy tells Petria to agree to disagree with her mother. Petria can come to an agreement with her mother on which topics they should avoid and which they enjoy discussing together. When Petria and her mother come to a disagreement, she can ask a third person to mediate the conversation by giving their unbiased opinion.Maybe you felt that others would have difficulty relating to your tough circumstances.
