As a cosmetology teacher at Riverside City College, Yesenia loves encouraging her students to nurture their many interests. Lani Rae’s Marvelous Hair is a story inspired by Yesenia’s daughter, Leilani. It touches on the difficult subject of childhood cancer while encouraging kindness and friendship.
