Discussing some work situations

from Smol Psychotic Trans GF Hosted by Abigail Vicchairelli

From WebMD about working: "A tricky decision is when and how to let an employer know about this illness. It’s a good question to ask your doctor. "It depends on the individual and how well they have responded to medication," Jewell says. "If symptoms have essentially disappeared, there's really no need to tell an employer. Some people who have a less than complete response to medication may well need to [tell.]" If active symptoms get in the way of work duties, it might be a good idea to have a conversation with the boss about needs, such as doctor’s appointment times. Frese offers similar advice. "It's a good idea not to advertise or tell people if you don’t have to," Frese says, especially at the beginning of your career. If you're older or nearing the end of your career, Frese encourages you to tell your co-workers. More openness about schizophrenia will help reduce the stigma." I discuss some of my work experiences with my disorder. How I had to tell some employers about what was going on because I couldn't preform some duties. So this makes me feel horrible because it's not like I'm refusing! I talk about some of my trips with being partially hospitalized, and other forms of therapy. I think that there are companies that don't care about mental health, as much as they should. That is incredibly frustrating! I just want people to understand that I really am trying, and I am not blaming the illness. I feel so lost when it comes to some jobs. It's a huge process. I also touched about how I feel how family is viewing me, since I am not working. It makes me feel so small. Well, I hope y'all are having a lovely day. Please keep GOING. You are amazing. You are worth it! I LOVE YOU! https://linktr.ee/DRaymond1987
