Fly and Fetch is a start-up company based in Edmonton, Canada with a mission to provide affordable and reliable international shipping, by hiring travelers to transport packages. Shauna, Shelvie and Victoria discuss how Fly and Fetch is solving the shipping and logistics issues that have resulted from the pandemic including the increase in prices, their experience with raising capital for their business as immigrant, women entrepreneurs, the importance of financials in an expanding business, and advice for women entering into entrepreneurship. Shelvie is the CEO and Co-founder of Fly and Fetch. She is aiming to disrupt international shipping worldwide by providing an alternative solution that is faster and cheaper with superb delivery services. Before she started her start-up, she worked in business development for a tech program in Edmonton and had multiple years of sales experience. She was also a community leader serving as the President for Filipino-Canadian student group for three years and she also used to be a beauty queen and competed in various regional and national beauty pageants in Canada and Philippines. Victoria is the COO and Co-founder of Fly and Fetch. She is in charge of operations and finance and her main goal is to make Fly and Fetch the next global solution for international shipping. Victoria was born and raised in Ecuador and she moved to Canada 4 years ago. She has Bachelor of Economics and a BBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Before starting Fly and Fetch, she worked for the Government of Ecuador in Public Finance for four years and founded a company that helped small businesses to increase sales and revenue by giving them access to the Ecuadorian national market.
