Arkasından da Cognac bölgesindeki üretilen içki tescillendi ve 1930 yılından sonra konyak artık sadece bu bölgede üretilen alkollü damıtık içkiye verilen isim oldu. Cognac bölgesi dışında üretilen içkilere ise hala dünyanın neresinde olursa olsun brendi adı verilmektedir.
