Do everything in Love | Jeff Rose | THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT

This sermon contrasts fear and love as two opposing ways of living. Fear is reactive (fight/flight/freeze), feeds on “false evidence appearing real,” seeks to control others, and can become unbounded and exhausting. Love, on the other hand, is bounded, truthful, and focuses on responsibility for self rather than control of others. The key anchor is “Do everything in love” (1 Corinthians 16:13–14), alongside “perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18). The message encourages choosing love intentionally—especially in everyday pressures, decisions, and relationships—and learning to receive and engage God’s love as the resource that empowers believers to live with power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7).
