📖 Thankful Thursday — Don’t Forget the LoavesHave you ever faced a new problem and suddenly forgotten all the ways God has been faithful before?The disciples did.In Mark 8, they get into a boat with Jesus and realize they've forgotten to bring enough bread.They have one loaf.And they start worrying about it.There's just one problem...These are the same disciples who recently watched Jesus feed thousands of people—twice!So Jesus begins asking them questions.How many baskets were left after the five thousand?Twelve.How many after the four thousand?Seven.Jesus makes them remember.He's reminding them what those miracles should have taught them about Him.💭 Today's TruthDon't let today's need make you forget yesterday's faithfulness.Remembering God's past faithfulness doesn't mean we know exactly what He's going to do next.It means we know more about the God we're trusting because of what we've already seen.Maybe that's what gratitude needs to look like today.Think of something God has done in your life.A prayer He answered.A season He carried you through.A provision you didn't see coming.A closed door you later understood.Grace that met you when you failed.Thank Him for it.But then go one step deeper:What did that experience teach you about God?Maybe you discovered His faithfulness.His compassion.His wisdom.His patience.His presence.His grace.Don't just remember the gift. Remember what the gift taught you about the Giver.🙏 Today's PrayerLord, thank You for the ways You have already been faithful in my life. Forgive me for how quickly today's problems can make me forget yesterday's grace. Help me remember not only what You have done, but what Your faithfulness has taught me about who You are. When I don't know what You will do next, help me trust the God You have already shown Yourself to be.
