When we talk about the number of hours we spend on our phones and apps, it’s because an app showed us. Funny actually, using tech to beat tech. I do salute those apps though. Blocking apps that make it impossible to use specific apps for a specific period of time, help you to become more aware. You can notice how much you are craving that app. You want to check it. Just for 1 minute. You may even want to unblock it if you can, but you try not to while the urge remains present. The same applies to tracking apps. They tell you how long you have used your apps. They are honest! They tell you straight up the number of hours spent (or wasted?) on an app. It’s probably more than you imagined… Yes blocking and tracking apps are great! BUT Don’t rely on those apps to control your phone use. Don’t just rely on external help. You don’t want to be dependent on those apps. There is so much more you can do.
