In “Double Donging It” | Episode 250, The Black Lincoln Collective Comedy Podcast hits a milestone the only way it knows how: with questionable math, inappropriate intros, back-to-school relief, and a strong possibility that nobody has actually counted the episodes correctly. The show opens with Parker, Fred, and Allan celebrating the “250th time, give or take” that they have done this. There are jokes about the BLC’s audio being better than the video, whether this should really be called BLC 3000, and the emotional joy of kids finally getting out of the house and going back to school. That leads into Fred explaining a school bus situation where drivers were allegedly told they could no longer work both bus-driving and school-support jobs, so they parked the buses and forced immediate action. The crew fully supports the drivers, because if anyone can shut a system down fast, it is the people responsible for getting everybody’s kids home. Then the episode shifts into Fred’s back-to-school family emergency. His son receives a bunch of quarters from a church lady, goes upstairs counting them, and somehow ends up swallowing one while trying to balance it on his tongue. What follows is panic, screaming, a dog losing its mind, Fred using his CPR/Heimlich instincts, a trip to the ER, X-rays, the discovery that the quarter is stuck near the top of his chest, and eventually a transfer to Greenville for removal. Thankfully, the quarter comes out the next morning and the kid is fine, which means the crew is free to joke about cursed quarters, old people giving kids dangerous change, and the family member who simply asks, “That boy make it?” Parker then shares his own Odyssey story — literally. He tries to go see The Odyssey on the same night the new Spider-Man opens, accidentally buys tickets for the next day, gets confronted by a group of extremely New York moviegoers, and has to beg a theater manager for help. He eventually lands in handicap-adjacent seats, watches the movie, and gives a very BLC review involving Cyclops complaints, sirens that never sing, PTSD Odysseus, and a movie that is mostly fine but not as good as the ordeal of getting into it. After the break, the crew celebrates 250 episodes with fake congratulatory messages from suspicious public figures before launching into Fredline News. The stories include a terrifying chainsaw-wielding centaur robot designed to fight wildfires, women’s cycling drama over padded bras allegedly creating aerodynamic advantages, a man who used super glue instead of a condom, and a Gordon Ramsay-looking dwarf adult-film actor reportedly found dead in a badger den. By the end, the guys reflect on 250 episodes, realize they have somehow not gotten better, confuse centaurs and minotaurs, and laugh themselves into the finish line. It is a milestone episode full of school chaos, hospital panic, movie failure, weird news, and the exact kind of nonsense that got them to 250 in the first place.
