Just a few years ago, Dr Alex George would not have been a face that you’d have recognised, unless he’d treated you on the A&E wards. That all changed when he won the hearts of millions of fans in the 2018 series of Love Island. He may not have found love in the villa, but he became a much loved face on our screens, going on to use his fame to help spread awareness about mental health.  What makes Dr Alex particularly extraordinary is how he remained so positive during an extremely tough 2020. Whilst most of us were told to stay at home, Dr Alex was on the front line, working day and night treating Covid-19 patients at Lewisham and Greenwich Hospital. He also dealt with tremendous personal loss, as his younger brother, Llŷr, tragically passed away in the midst of the pandemic. In this episode, Dr Alex reflects on the events of last year, sharing what life has been like on the wards, how he found his purpose again after his appearance on Love Island, and how his family is coping with the loss of Llŷr. Worlds of Adventure WLPP-LP 102.9 FM, Palenville NY Worlds of Adventure is a weekly improv audio drama series from WLPP-LP 102.9 FM, Palenville NY, powered by DramaSystem. Host Susan Davis and a cast of four main characters create a world and a story each season, starting from a blank sheet of paper and a single sentence. Nothing is scripted or canned; the story emerges on the fly as we record it. Every Monday, we release a new half-hour full cast original audio drama episode. Each season is its own self-contained story. The story might be science fiction, fantasy, horror, historical drama, or even Dogme 95-style literary fiction, but it will definitely be nothing like anything you can hear anywhere else. In our 2016 season, join FBI agents Kate Wilma and Denver Winkle as they try to unravel the mystery of a series of strange deaths in the tiny mountain town of Lower Clove, New York.http://worldsofadventure.org
