from Girls Gone Boss · host Alex Pender & Gaby Ortega

Dr. Julie is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with teens and adults. She specializes in helping her clients heal from their past by discovering their inner strength. She also helps patients with anxiety, depression, body image concerns, social anxiety, relationship issues and those coping with transitions. In this episode we discuss the very prevalent issue of lack of self-esteem amongst women. Why do we feel not good enough? Why do we second guess ourselves? Dr. Julie digs deep into the underlying feeling of self doubt that hovers over many of us in our daily lives. She gives us techniques on how to change our inner critique in ways that will serve and help us project a better self image. We open up about the role that social media has taken in devaluing our self worth by keeping us in the comparison trap. Dr. Julie stresses the importance of building children’s self-esteem from a very young age and encourages parents to take on an active role in order to raise more confident adults. Dr. Julie resides in New York City and is a remote therapist who works with clients across the globe. She is available for in-person or for virtual sessions.
