Additionally, Dr. Zuniga is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Oncology. Dr. Zuniga earned her doctorate in nutritional sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also completed a dietetic internship. She is a Level 2 Clinical Cancer Exercise Specialist. Dr. Zuniga previously served as an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Texas State University. As a translational nutrition scientist, she conducts basic, clinical, and epidemiological research to understand how nutrition and physical activity may promote physical and cognitive health in cancer survivors and older adults.
