Join Kim and Dr Maria Romanas as they discuss "The Joy Switch" .. Gotta have it!!  Discussion prompted by a book of the same name by Chris M. Coursey.  Inspired Maria, so she's paying it forward :) Kick off of Brain Injury Awareness Month - March Dr. Maria is a fellow brain injury survivor who works full-time as a hospital pathologist. She had to learn to become her own self-therapist to prevent “brain-injured moments” at work and at home. She says, “My cognitive impairments may be permanent, but disability is negotiable.”  Her goal is to help other survivors learn to operate their brains in a new way in order to minimize disability and optimize their own recoveries. This show is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery. This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me." We focus on the four A's of Recovery: Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers, which takes a good bit of Warrior!
