She has a growth-minded and strategic vision for improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of care, while fostering a trauma-informed and stigma-free culture within and beyond her organization. Dr. Tara is a seasoned clinician, educator, and public speaker with over 30 years of expansive experience in the healthcare field. She holds a Doctor of Psychology degree from Walden University, with a specialization in Behavioral Health Leadership. She is also an Associate Professor at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, a Member of CHIEF, a network for women leaders, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor by NBCC. Dr. Tara is a strategic leader who often says she has “a for profit brain and a non-profit heart.” She has won numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding contributions to the mental health field, such as the Clinician of the Year and the You Make a Difference Award from NAMI. Dr. Tara has also made numerous television, podcast, and radio appearances to share her expertise and insights on a wide array of topics such as mental health, addictions, and trauma. Dr. Tara is passionate about mentoring professionals, elevating women in the workplace, normalizing discussion about mental health globally, raising awareness of the impact of trauma, and promoting overall health and wellness. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where she specializes in trauma, relationships, female empowerment, higher consciousness, and self-actualization. She is an EMDR practitioner and a Jungian Sandplay therapist.
