Born in central London in 1948, his early life was shaped by a rich tapestry of experiences—from swinging London's flower power movement to his transformative spiritual retreat in the Saharan Berbers. William's eclectic career includes founding the groundbreaking Open Gate imprint at Macmillan, publishing iconic figures like Lenny Bruce, and achieving a bestseller with a biography of Elvis Presley. William shifted from publishing and counter-culture activism to academia, earning a doctorate in political psychology from the London School of Economics. However, his passion for exploring consciousness and spirituality led him to abandon an academic career in favor of working with special needs communities and diving deeper into spiritual teachings.
