from Just Earthly Podcast · host Inner Light Botanicals
Natasha Williot is a drama therapist and Canadian Counsellor working in private practice with neurodivergent, queer/LGBTQ+, multicultural, and Indigenous folx. Most of Natasha's clients are at the intersections of 2+ of these identities and centres creativity in practice as inherently healing, as well as main way to communicate in more than words. Natasha's work aims to be anti-oppressive (anti-capitalist/colonialist/patriarchal/racist) and holistic. In this episode Natasha and I chat about drama arts in therapy to help folx understand themselves, to make changes in their lives, and to work through grief and violence. Natasha speaks about victims of systemic trauma such homophobia, transphobia, ableism, patriarchy, sexualized violence, and colonialism and how this shows up as anxiety and depression but when you start digging a bit deeper, there is root in resisting, managing and surviving these systems of oppression.
