Drawing on our deepest resources

from spiritual principles made practical's podcast · host Scott Friedman

When difficulty strikes, it's time to draw on our deepest resources.  For me that means meditation and in some cases friends. Part of me is struggling with accepting my value enough to have it reflected back to me in the physical world.  The arguments in my mind on the negative side are "no one wants or values what I have to offer", "I don't deserve huge success", "I haven't done the work to see my hopes and dreams realized" and so on.  On the positive side, "I'm an inspiring example that has helped a great many people", "I am and have advanced win win thinking in the world making the world a better place", "I share wisdom in a manner people use to improve their lives" and more. I know the way forward is to accept the existence of both the negative and positive thoughts, and choose to act only on the positive thoughts.  The thought "I owe it to myself to give myself a chance" helps me a great deal.  The thought, "I've broken through overwhelming resistance before, and I can do it again" also helps.  These thoughts result in me having the strength and resolve to keep going.  I know I am creating every difficulty in my life and the way to change that is to continue to fill my mind with the thought "I am the world".  I repeat that phrase in my mind many, possibly hundreds, of times a day.  This, among other things, focuses my attention in the present moment where there is no suffering. All this is the result of following the guidance I receive in meditation.  I consider that to be my deepest resource.   I offer thought coaching if you think you would benefit from being aware of more of the thoughts that are in your head and the power you have to choose which thoughts to act on and which to let go of.  For a free introductory session, contact me at [email protected]   My books are available on Amazon.   You can find links to them on my website, www.thoughtcoachingbyscott.com
