Wow, what an incredible story. And so very sad. Even though Absalom acted so horribly towards his father, his father David never stopped loving his son. And that's one of the most important messages that we have in the Bible, that even though we have sinned, God our Father has never stopped loving us. He has forgiven us, and he still embraces us as father. If you want to see more of how this is so read the story of the prodigal son, and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about, no matter what we've done. God is our father. And he loves us and that is good news.
