Upon graduating from prestigious NYU with a business degree, Mark Ingram’s fashion career began at the legendary Fifth Avenue specialty stores Bonwit Teller and Bergdorf Goodman. As a young merchandising executive at these venerable institutions in the early 80’s, Mark was exposed to the world’s top designers and arbiters of style. Mark’s interest in fashion, however, dates back to his childhood. As a youngster barely out of the stroller, Mark was introduced to fashionable Fifth Avenue shops by his grandparents, who were avid shoppers and style setters. Custom-made clothes and Saturday fittings at such stores as B. Altman and Best & Co. remain fond childhood memories. By 1986, Mark had embarked on a successful wholesale career in New York’s garment center, securing merchandising and sales management positions with designer and luxury goods manufacturers. In 1995 he joined the renowned bridal house Amsale as National Bridal Sales Director. In this role, Mark traveled to the best couture bridal stores meeting brides-to-be across the country. All of this helped prepare him to realize the dream of opening Mark Ingram Atelier in 2002. Mr. Ingram established his own namesake collection ‘Mark Ingram Bride’ as a response to hearing firsthand the gowns that his customers were missing the most. The Mark Ingram Bride is a Collection brand first but truly so much more of an adjective. The title embodies the woman and the women who inspire their effortless look and feel. They are simple yet stately, they are delicate but impactful.
